El lugar

Casa Mabati is a small certified organic orchard with blueberries, feijoas, chestnuts and walnuts, on the outskirts of Waihi. We also have sheep, free-range pigs and poultry, and grow vegetables and a wide variety of other fruit. Tony makes cider, fruit wine and honey mead (pretty rough!- but I like it.) The property is about 7 acres in total, with a stream boundary.

Loved our stay. Beautiful property, wonderful company and amazing food. Great place to base yourself from for walks around karangahake or waihi. Or a quiet weekend away- great deck chairs for reading on the verandah. Would definitely stay again.

Tony is a wonderful host and his orchard house is a true B&B! He made us a delicious breakfast every morning and he gave us tons of great info and help in planning out the best things to do in the area each day. The suite we stayed in was large, very clean, and the beds were super comfortable. Tony went above and beyond to make sure we had a fun and comfortable stay, and shared so much of his delicious organic fruit with us. I would recommend his place to anyone, particularly because it is so cheap for the amazing value! His place is a short drive to tons of great things in all directions, which he will help you get to!! Definitely recommend staying here to see Waihi and the surrounding area!

My partner and I throughly enjoyed our stay. We visited over three days for a wedding and felt we were on a romantic getaway. The lush tranquil country side is beautiful! Tony's personality is easy going, so much that we felt very comfortable in his home. He went out of his way to offer us dinner and tell us the little gems and stories of Waihi. Not to mention the perfect night cap...homemade honey meed. We had such a great experience. We would love to come back and taste the farms summer produce. Make sure to stay for his breakfast, it's so thoughtful and filling. He even accommodated breakfast to allow a sleep in. Couldn't fault the experience if i tried.

Tony's B&B was amazing! Tony is an incredibly kind man with some wonderful life experiences that he was happy to share with us! The location is beautiful and the house is immaculately tidy. We really enjoyed wandering about his property watching the guinea fowl roam about, meeting his sheep, and admiring his number of fruit and nut trees. Breakfast in the morning g co sister of mushrooms on toast and scrambled guinea fowl eggs which were absolutely delicious!! We would wholly recommend Tony's place to anyone and everyone!!
