Corral Country Cottage is a quiet cottage on 10 acres. 1 queen size bed/1 bath w/ decks & gorgeous views. It is off Highway #68 near Laguna Seca Raceway, Carmel Valley, Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur & Salinas. Quiet & private. We have llamas! And sheep, goats and chickens. And 2 passes to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Corral Country Cottage is a little guest house with 2 spacious rooms in Corral de Tierra. John Steinbeck referred to the area as Pastures of Heaven and wrote a book with the same name. The cottage sits above one of our pastures on 10 acres. The llamas and sheep are rotated between 2 fields and are right out the window. Yes, you can feed them if you want. You can also walk to the goat pasture. My chickens provide farm fresh eggs and the fruit trees and vegetable garden will provide seasonal produce for your pleasure. It is private, off the main road and warmer than the coast. We have lots of Red Shouldered Hawks as they nest on our property plus deer, quail, wild turkeys and many kinds of birds and butterflies. The cottage is set up thoughtfully so you will have a pleasant experience. A full kitchen with teas, coffee, snacks, fruit, milk, granola, basic kitchen things, etc. The cottage has a large TV with Comcast and premium channels, high speed internet, WiFi, Apple TV, games, books, etc. There are thick robes in the closet for your use. It has electric heat and a wood stove and heated throws. You pass our little corner gourmet Corral Market & Deli on the way if you care to pick up lunch, dinner or snacks. They have the best barbecued tri tip and ribs. We are a little piece of heaven in a busy world. Arrival and Check out times are very flexible so check with me.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I graduated from Cal Poly in Biological Sciences and worked summers in private research before moving to the Monterey area in the early 60s. I lived in both Pacific Grove and Carmel Valley before settling in Corral de Tierra in the mid 60s. I worked at the Naval Post Grad School in the Physics Dept. I started "The Farm Preschool" & Summer Camp on this property and ran that for 30 years. I also worked at The Monterey Bay Aquarium. Now I spend my time gardening, reading, walking the dogs, cooking & baking, keeping bees, swimming, and making Japanese and Origami boxes, cards and albums that I sell at local craft fairs. My husband is a computer consultant. I am here to make your stay on the central coast a great one. As a 50 year Monterey County resident I can recommend restaurants, hikes, events, must see local sights and fun excursions if you wish. And you can feed the llamas!
