Rented the house for my family of 5, while at a BYU camp. Joe was friendly, but at the same time had the attitude of "it is what it is".
When we arrived, Joe left the front door open, and later found out that this was on purpose, as the front door doesn't lock or doesn't have a key. When we brought it up to Joe, he said to just leave a window or back door open when we leave for the day, and our stuff should be safe.
There were no smoke detectors in any of the bedrooms. When I brought it up, he said there should be one in the living room on top of the shelves and downstairs with the water heater. After further investigation, the one downstairs had no batteries and seemed to be broken. Was not happy having my family and kids sleep in rooms without these sensors.
Downstairs the carpet is not fully nailed down and kind of patch work. I think he had a flood or something.
The master bedroom has floor to ceiling windows, as the picture shows, but the blinds are broken, so very little privacy. I brought it up, and he said the trees should make enough privacy. Also, there's no to very few shades or curtains throughout the rest of the house, so all the windows are open all of the time.
There's random holes in the walls and a lot of stains on the carpets throughout.
The house has a musty, old smell. He said it was the AC, but I think the house needs some love. New carpets and paint will go a long way in this home. Just more pride.
I also literally walked through two cobwebs in the house, and every day we killed spiders in the bathrooms and other rooms. He said he would have it sprayed again after we left.
The jacuzzi was was nice, warm. The cover going on and off you think you're going to break it, or maybe it's already broken, but using the jacuzzi was nice.
We used the Internet daily, he has (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Fiber, as well as TV. The AC works, but the Nest or Joe kept changing the temp to 84 or high temperatures, we had to keep turning it down to 76. We didn't use the AC that much, but is nice to have. A nice breeze comes through the windows and sliding doors.
The house is distant from the neighbors, which is nice. Also, yes a lot of parking.
One master bedroom upstairs and two smaller rooms down stairs. One of the rooms is basically his storage room with a bed, as you can see in the pics.
I didn't have high expectations going into this. But for what we paid, I at least expected smoke detectors in the bedrooms, more of the shades, drapes to work, and slightly better smell, and to not walk into cobwebs, oh and the front door to lock.
