Seagull is a 40 ft Trawler located in Perdido Key Florida (conveniently near Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and Pensacola). She is docked in a quiet area away from the hustle of the surrounding tourist towns. Seagull can currently be rented for a quiet scenic vacation at the dock.

El alojamiento
Hurricane Sally update: After a long search we found a temporary dock for seagull but they do not accept AirBnB's. Southwind marina hopes to be open in 2 months. As soon as we have a date we will start accepting reservations. If you are needing temporary or longer term housing (and you have a dock) we can negotiate options. We would also be interested in renting through the winter at reduced rates for a reliable long term renter. Please send a message for ideas.

Seagull has a master bedroom with full/queen bed, 2 bunks in the v-birth and could sleep one on the galley couch. This boat would work for 1-2 couples or a small family.

Because Seagull is a boat, she has a few quirks associated with most boats - spaces can be small, storage areas are unique, and there are stairs/ladders. We do not recommend Seagull for people with mobility or balance problems. You must be comfortable with a little sway as well as being able to step on and off a moving boat. We do feel this is a family friendly boat, but we do not recommend young kids that are not use to being on the water. All kids must have adequate supervision.

The boat will be at dock but dose still move especially as the charter boats come and go or when the bay or marina is busy. If you are very prone to motion sickness this could be a problem but does generally improve once you get your "sea legs."

We have recently changed to gas stove to a microwave/convection oven unit with induction stove top to help with safety in our small space. We have grills available outside as well as blenders and coolers. We are trying to keep the kitchen stocked as much as possible for the compact space.

She has 2 baths (heads as we call them). Toilet paper in the heads (bathrooms) must go in a trash can and can not be flushed - this is just how boat bathrooms work. They are full bathrooms but they are small.

Acceso para huéspedes
The entire boat is yours at dock. Marina also has some common spaces.

Marina has bathroom, pay washer and dryer(quarters) and a small store for ice, bait, drinks and snacks.

Otros aspectos destacables
NO SMOKING ON THE BOAT - additional cleaning fees will need to be collected for damages and odor from smoking.

We are working to arrange charters at some time but we are in the progress of getting the correct insurance and reliable captains. Our eventual goal is to offer an entire vacation experience. We have to start with the boat at dock first then add options from there.

This is our first try at AirBnB. We have been pleasantly surprised the interest we have received and are quickly trying to catch up to demand. We're also working through our system and our learning curve with our first listing. Thank you for having patience with our responses as we aim to get Seagull up and running. We're trying to respond to people in order but are getting multiple almost simultaneous requests.

Frequently Asked Questions:
1) Can we take the boat out ourselves - No, our insurance and our risk tolerance level don't allow it - Big Boat, Small Slip
2) Charter Questions: We're in progress of finding a captain. At this time we can not offer charter options but as soon as we find a captain that will fit our standards we will add this.
This is our ultimate goal and we are working toward that as fast as we can.
3) Bike Rentals: The closest I can find is Beach Bike Rentals in Orange Beach. We would like to eventually get bikes for the boat but we do not have them yet. The ones on the photo look cool but are not ours. You can bring bikes, 2 will fit on the back but then you have to climb to get to a different door.
4) Kayak/Canoe rentals: Big Lagoon Rentals, Beach Paddle Sports; we are considering adding kayaks to the boat but we do not have them yet.
5) Waverunner Rental: Big Lagoon Jet Ski Rental
6) Blue Angels frequently fly overhead. The practice schedule is listed on the Navy site. They do seem to frequently fly outside of posted schedules but I can't tell you when. Last week it was every other day at 11. Some weeks they may not fly at all.
7) Charters: The marina has fishing, sailing and diving charters at the marina. We are working on a list. Basically you can wake up, go fishing or diving then walk down to the boat.

We have put together a guide book with additional information.

Pensacola, Florida, Estados Unidos

The boat is docked at Southwind Marina. The marina can have a very social atmosphere especially Saturday nights when everyone if frying thier catches from the day.

Perdido Key is a relatively quiet area in the busy vacation towns of the Gulf Coast. The boat is near the Pensacola Naval Airstation with lighthouse, Ft. Barrancas, and the Naval Aviation Museum. This museum is the world's largest naval aviation museum and one of the most visited museums in Florida. It's free and worth spending at least half a day.

Big Lagoon State Park and Tarklin Bayou State park are very close for kayaking, swimming, fishing, hiking and biking.

There is a playground across the street - Perdido Kids Park.

The boat is half-way between Orange Beach (14 miles) and Pensacola (11 miles). Orange Beach and Gulf Shores have all of the tourist amenities that you could think of. Downtown Pensacola has a wonderful restaurant and bar scene. Pensacola Beach is another wonderful spot to spend the day.

The boat is 7 miles to Johnson's Beach by car. This is a nice and generally calmer and quiet beach.

Near-by restaurants include Hub Stacey, the Oyster Bar and Holiday Harbor Sunset Grill (which has the best blackened grouper, sweet tea and Key Lime pie anywhere - especially at sunset). You can walk across the street to a great little Greek resturaunt - Georgios.

By boat, seagull is near beautiful Ft. McRee - a favorite spot for local boaters. She can be in Pensacola or Orange Beach area in a 1-2 hour beautiful boat trip - once we find a reliable captain.

We are a family of 5 that loves to explore and try new things. In 2017 we took a travel year to 10 countries with the majority being AirBNB rentals. We have experience with what makes a great rental. We grew up in on the Alabama Gulf Coast and love boating. We are looking forward to sharing what makes this area so special. Seagull if our first (of hopefully many) AirBnB experiments that are based on what would be our ideal vacation.
