The Eco Life Adventure at ASALANTA is not just a place to spend the night, you will have a unique experience staying in our eco lodging called "The Earth". One of three bamboo and clay built traditional huts part of our little Earthen village. Surrounded by majestic bamboo gardens and lush jungle you get to live a back to basic lifestyle, healthy for body, mind and soul. A great way to take in Thai culture and enjoy unspoiled nature while keeping your carbon footprint to a minimum.

El lugar

Camp & cook your food like a local. Your basic bamboo and clay built lodging is equipped with small details that make it feel like a home, such as a traditional Thai outfit, a place to dry your clothes and a picnic area. We’ll supply a BBQ, kitchen utensils as well as proper survival tools like a jungle knife and axe. A small survival guide will be your compass on this adventure. It’ll also show you the way to the local market, where you can choose from a huge variety of fresh produce. This is a truly self-reliant experience, and you’ll have a great time exploring!

Disponible para huéspedes

Guests have access to our Education Park that encompasses 3 acres of bamboo forest and tropical jungle, a fish pond, a tree hut and a surrounding mountain stream. You have opportunity to book additional workshops that we offer in the Education Park.
Part of the earthen village is our Organic Teahouse and Earth Shop where you can meet all sorts of people, from local villagers to international visitors and enjoy a cup of coffee or a fresh ice tea.

Atención a los huéspedes

We are a little family business and we live at the earthen village ourselves. In the high season (Nov-Apr) you'll find us in and around the house and gardens, always mending, building, planting, teaching or chilling. Your stay and experience is designed to be self reliant but we are mostly around and either way available online for any questions you might have.
Note that organized activities and workshops are not included in the Eco Life Adventure, but can be booked additionally.

Otros aspectos destacables

Staying in a tropical rain forest, in the middle of nature, involves living conditions that are surely a big change from what you are used to at home. The accommodation is designed to give relief from heat and humidity, giving it an open air feeling, similar to camping. We are so excited to offer you this unique and authentic experience, living in a natural building, all hand made with free shapes and creative details.
Please note our little Organic Teahouse and Earth Shop are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Aspectos que también debes tener en cuenta
Es necesario utilizar las escaleras - You will be in the jungle, natural floors are uneven, the lodgings are on stilts and have concrete steps and bridges connecting them.
Hay mascotas en la propiedad - We have two cats that wander around the area but normally don't enter the rooms.
No se puede estacionar en la propiedad - We have plenty of space for motorbike parking but not for cars.
Hay zonas comunes que se comparten - The toilet and shower building is shared, two cold showers, two flushing toilets and sink with mirror. There is also a shared sink for dishwashing.
Limitaciones de servicios - Living conditions are clean and cozy yet back to basic and very outdoorsy.

We had a fantastic week at the AsaLanta Earthen Village with our family (kids ages: 12, 8, 7). We highly recommend any family to spend a week here with Anke and Aoi. The hosts have such a kind and open heart and shared their knowledge with us. We didn't know exactly what to expect from the AirBnB description and we were a little concerned that there were only a few reviews. We found that most people staying at AsaLanta find out about the place through volunteer websites. They have a lot of return visitors. To give you a better idea what to expect look up our blog on volunteering in Thailand on our site Worldtripfamily. You are never pressured to work, but we were bummed when there was a day off: it's really fun to build and farm with the family! The accommodation is basic, but very clean. Yes, there are insects in the jungle, but it's amazing how quickly you get used to them. It could be a great opportunity to overcome your fears! The hosts will be there every step of the way. Bring a flash light and towel. There is of course no AC but we were never too hot at night, thanks to natural wind (and a fan). Breakfast is included all days, and lunch five days a week. Lunch was amazing and breakfast adequate for our family of five. For dinner, you can use the single heating plate, but we usually headed to the beach in the afternoon, a good half hour walk or a ten minute tuk tuk ride (100 to 150 baht).

Every moment in Asa Lanta was amazing. Firstly the location is supberb. But most importantly the community and people of asa lanta really made our week. Thank you Anke and Aoi and everyone else, for an incredible experience. I have learnt so much and hope to see you all again. We miss the music of the jungle :) already. P.s Oh and the lunch was incredible!

We enjoyed Asa Lanta experience very much. Anke and Aoi are wonderful happy people. We loved learning building school and our wonderful room. Food here was just the most amazing vegetation food we ate in Thailand. We would definitely come back again when in Thailand xxx

Staying at AsaLanta is a wonderful experience in many ways. Back to basics, because it is about sustainability &simple living. So I've learned to make a fire in order to have my cup of coffee in the morning. And you'll learn many other things during the working hours. It is also wonderful because of the people. Especially the inspirational Anke & Aoi, but also the neighbours and the other volunteer/guests. I'm glad that I could contribute to get the new building ready for even more educational activities.

Perfil de usuario de Aoi, Anke And Asa

We are a cheerful family of 3, enjoying slow life in an earthen house we have built ourselves. Dad, Aoi is Thai and originally from Bangkok, Mum, Anke is Dutch, from a little village in the county side and little Asa has been adding color to life since May 2015. In 2009 we purchased a piece of land in the heart of Lanta Island in the south of Thailand. Over the years we have worked and learnt together with volunteers from all over the world. Right now ASALANTA is a little sanctuary, in the midst of pristine nature for you to be enjoyed, to get inspired and feel empowered. We are passionate about running our Eco Life Adventure, Organic Teahouse, Earth Shop and Education Park. We practice, promote and teach sustainable solutions like natural building, the growing and using of bamboo and creative recycling.
