Private downstairs bedroom with en suite (attached) bathroom and a clean, comfortable king-size bed. Upscale basics provided. Central heat & air conditioning, super fast WiFi. Only 15 miles from the coast/beach, close to Camp Pendleton, San Luis Rey Equestrian Center, Vista nightlife, and a short drive to GIA or Temecula casinos & vineyards! I can host one small, well-behaved dog, but I’m allergic to cats.

El alojamiento
The guest bedroom is downstairs off the living room, with a private bathroom attached, so no worries about running down hallways in a towel! Bath amenities include a hair dryer and soap/shampoo/body wash in addition to 100% cotton towels. If you've forgotten any other essentials, I have travel-size extras to accommodate. There are 100% cotton sheets and a down-alternative comforter on the king-size bed, and extra pillows and blankets in the closet. There is a desk and chair for laptops, and the WiFi is super fast. There is also a large bookcase in the room from which you're welcome to borrow books during your stay. The ceiling fan and overhead light complement other lighting in the room - it can be as bright or dim as you like. Noise level between myself and guests is minimal to non-existent. The HVAC condenser is on the patio outside the room, so there may be some white noise from that in the hottest/coolest months. I enjoy having the windows open to catch the constant breeze, but am happy to put the central heat or air conditioning on if the temperature is uncomfortable for you. The room-darkening vertical blinds keep things the perfect shade of dark until you're ready to face the day. I have an extensive library and a thing for vintage chairs, so if you're a bookworm, you will feel right at home! After an exciting adventure in San Diego or a hard day working in North County, there is nothing better than curling up with a cup of tea and a book in the living room. There is no television, but the WiFi is ~300 mbps and can accommodate gaming or web streaming from your own Roku/Netflix/Prime account(s) on your own device(s). Emergency information, such as address and contact info, is listed out on a white board in your room for reference. I can accommodate one small pre-approved dog. I cannot host cats, as I'm allergic. Apologies!

Acceso para huéspedes
You will have access to the bedroom with en suite (attached) bathroom, and access to the private patio. We will share the living/dining room area, and the kitchen. There is a 3.7 cu. ft. mini-fridge with separate freezer, and a kitchen cart specifically for guests to store their food in. Your own set of dishes/utensils and pans are also on the kitchen cart, and we will share the microwave. Your own iron and ironing board is available in your room at all times. There are grassy common areas in front of and behind my condo for quick doggie business (and a can outside for doody bags!), a defunct golf-course-turned-park within a short walk, and plenty of sidewalks in the area for more exercise.

Otros aspectos destacables
Please note I would not consider my place wheelchair accessible, nor appropriate for small children and infants. Smoking is never permitted anywhere in or around the house, nor on the patios. I can host one small dog, but I cannot host cats, as I’m very allergic. Apologies to feline-loving friends!

Ubicación

Bonsall, California, Estados Unidos

Bonsall is a quiet unincorporated area featuring many horse properties nestled among the farms and vineyards. It's a bit outside the crush of humanity that constitutes San Diego and Los Angeles, but still central to North County businesses and all the entertainment you could desire from Southern California. The stars are easily visible here at night; even so, major retailers are not far away. Oceanside beaches, local casinos (Pala, Pechanga, Harrah's, and more!), Temecula's wine country, and Vista's up-and-coming nightlife are all close by, but after the fun and excitement, the spa-like serenity of birdsong in the morning, clear air, and wind chimes in the ever-present breeze make it a great place to wake up. If you're here for Camp Pendleton, I am very close to the back gate, and about 20 minutes from the front gate (my understanding is all visitors without military ID have to go through the front gate). Fallbrook (just to the north) has a quaint downtown area with restaurants and a historic-type main street. Further north is Old Town Temecula and wine country, and the romantic town of Idyllwild. Vista (a few miles south) is becoming a lovely place for upscale gastropubs, microbreweries, and restaurants. I'm about 45 minutes from major attractions in San Diego such as Sea World, Balboa Park (all the museums), Legoland, Petco Park, downtown, and the airport. Hollywood, Anaheim/Disneyland, and the beaches of Los Angeles (Venice, Malibu, etc.) are easily a day trip.

I'm an editor for a publishing company in San Diego, California. I'm a night owl - usually up late, but very quiet! I enjoy learning about science, philosophy, and nutrition, and I read a lot. I love esoteric books (especially the old, rare ones), humorous memoirs, and time-travel novels. Nature is my religion, and I love a good walk among the trees. I do my best to practice mindfulness and gratitude daily, and always try to leave places better than I found them. When I travel, I prefer historic places, and I like knowing where the locals go for food and fun. I'm somewhat introverted and not much for crowds, so I'm often happier exploring on my own than going to the huge touristy spots, but of course there are some places you just can't miss. Scotland has been my favorite place to visit overseas, along with Oxford, England. I'm new to hosting, but since I've traveled quite a bit, I'm very mindful of what creates a great memory of the place you stayed. Convenience is high on my list! I've lived in San Diego for 12 years and have thoroughly explored, so I'm ready with plenty of recommendations for local restaurants, attractions, and events. I don't know how anyone can be bored in Southern California! I'm very accommodating and will do my best to anticipate all your needs, including all those incidentals you forgot to pack, because I've been there before! I look forward to returning the great hospitality I've received in the years I've been using AirBnB. Cheers!

I work full time from home until further notice, and I'm available anytime to answer questions. I am generally a quiet person and will mostly keep to myself unless you initiate conversation; then I'm happy to chat as time permits. My bedroom and bathroom, and my work area, are all upstairs over the living room, so pretty much the only time you'll see or hear me is when I'm in the kitchen, or if I'm sitting downstairs to read. The bedrooms are not stacked on top of each other, nor do they share common walls, so each are nicely private spaces.
