We've been welcomed so great in art junction ! The place is very close to the old city and also very quiet. The house is cozy, many beautiful paintings decorate it. The hosts were always ready to help us with our trip or to drive us where we needed to go... We would like to stay longer, moments shared with them were very nice and interesting. We definitely recommend them !

We loved every minute of our stay here, and have made a friend for life with our wonderful host, Chiman. Very kind, funny and gentle man. Located in a great area, with a great wee rooftop for relaxing. Can't recommend highly enough. Thanks Chiman, and Alit for making our stay so special x

Staying at the Art Junction Residency was simply wonderful, as it allowed my wife and I to have a full "local" experience of this historic, artistic, timeless city. If we stayed at a hotel, we would've certainly missed out on this local cultural exchange with our hosts. Before booking, I emailed Chiman many times and he responded immediately to my questions and concerns (as it was my very first time using AirBnB). After booking, he called me right away and created a daily plan for us to visit the various places within Udaipur. Also, he even arranged for us to rent a car with a driver, who took us to Fort Kumbhalgarh, the famous Nathdwara Temple, the Battle of Haldighati Museum, and the everlasting Chittorgarh. The Residency is located so close to the old city area that we simply walked to the various destinations like the City Palace, Bagore ki Haveli, etc. From Day 1, Chiman and his friend Lalit did EVERYTHING they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible, even drawing a map to help us figure out where everything is located and took care of all our travel details. The Residency is a very nice and clean environment with a large room, a long hallway, a full bathroom, and a rooftop with a great view of the distant Monsoon Palace. Chiman and Lalit are local artists who are on a MISSION to educate, train, help, and inspire local village children who otherwise would not get such an opportunity to develop their many artistic talents. They are opening an eco-house in December at a nearby rural farm property where they will offer organic food in a tranquil atmosphere and tents for the public to stay. They have a grand vision to bring international artists to the local village communities in an all-inclusive, transparent, organized fashion. They will host an international music and art festival on New Year's Day, where artists from all over the world will come to interact and work with each other as well as the village communities. They have been organizing a multitude of events for several years and the local children are greatly benefiting. This was my first contact with artists in India, and I am so grateful that I got this wonderful opportunity to meet fabulous people who want to make society a better place for the less fortunate, especially the children in this developing country. I am truly inspired by Chiman's and Lalit's commitment and passion for art as well as in developing the arts in India at large, starting with local village children. I highly recommend staying here, as it will not only be a great place to stay at a convenient location, but you will also imbibe the hosts' energy and be inspired in your own life to make things better in today's world. Thank you, Chiman and Lalit!

We had a really nice stay at Chimans house. The pickup from the train station went smoothly. Nice room, good location, not too crowded but still close by the city centre. Every morning they served chai tea and breakfast which tasted delicious! They helped us a lot getting around town. I would recommend to stay here if you don't want to be in the busy city centre.

I am living and working in Udaipur as a practicing Printmaker, Painter and Installation Artist. I completed Masters in Visual Art and Ph.D. thesis on Contemporary Rajasthan Printmaking.
Environmental and social issues are concepts currently explored in my installation work. Since 2009, as a Director of the Kaman Art Foundation, I have been organising the Sowing Seeds International Artists Village Residency.

(Art Junction is a natural progression from the rural based Sowing Seeds Project. Even though Udaipur has always been a cultural hub with long traditions of art, there was no residency which would provide an opportunity for artists to explore the rich history and at the same time get involved with the contemporary life and beat of a lively, changing urban culture.)

Art Junction is an artist studio and living places. Where I host can artist and guest.
