Hi there and thanks for checking out our place! This is a great location in the relatively safe/quiet neighborhood of West Berkeley. We’ve lived here since 2005 and have put a lot of love into the place, we hope you enjoy it.
We've done a fair bit of traveling ourselves and are always adding little things to the place that we would have appreciated on previous trips: maps, guidebooks, postcards, a corkscrew, wine glasses, etc. -- don't worry if you forgot something! If it's not already here, just ask.
There are lots of great places to eat and drink nearby whether you want to walk, bike or drive. We have left some suggestions for you in the studio but we have more. Tell us what you crave!
We are just two blocks away from Berkeley Bowl, an excellent grocery store with amazing food. And on Tuesdays, there's a farmer's market from 3-7pm just a couple blocks from the Ashby Bart station!
Your hosts have lived in the Bay Area for 15 years. Melissa is a teacher by day, musician by night. Steve is a engineer and plays music as well. After we get you all settled in, we'll leave you to your own devices, but don't hesitate to ask if you need anything.
Thanks for looking and happy travels!

In addition to teaching and design, we are both musicians and active participants in the East Bay art and music scene. We love the East Bay as it has so many wonderful things happening all the time. We would be happy to share what we know and point you in the right direction if you are looking for a night out on the town.
Steak & White Wine Dinner served by your hosts: $40/person (please confirm 24 hours in advance), Drum Lessons (offsite, inquire via email), bike pump/tools, cooking spices, BBQ gas grill (needs some training before use).

Q. Do you have luggage storage?
A. Yes, the studio has plenty of luggage storage.
Q. Can I get a discount?
A. We only offer discounts for long term stays, and the long term rates are automatically figured into the price.
Q. Can I bring an animal?
A. Sorry, no. We need to keep the space allergen-free.
Our place is appropriate for adults and mature, well-behaved children only. Children must be supervised at all times. We ask guests to be respectful of the apartment and its contents, and of the grounds.
Quiet hours (keep noises low) are between 10:00 PM and 9:00 AM - (we are musicians who practice at home and have mutually respected quiet times with our friendly neighbors, we also value a good nights rest for ourselves and our guests!)
This is a non-smoking rental though smoking is OK in the back yard in the designated area (away from windows & doors of the house); please use the ashtrays.
Please leave the little bathroom sundries for the next guest.
If you cook, please wash up after yourself.
I love the Bay Area! This place is growing rapidly and there is so much to see and do here. I love to travel and meet new people from around the world. I've created a place where you can relax, a place you can socialize and explore or both...travelers choice! Welcome!
