Rigg End is a characterful Circa 17th Century detached cottage situated on the edge of a small hamlet in Upper Wensleydale. The cottage is very comfortable and tastefully furnished. The garden has a stream running through as well as glorious views. Red squirrels visit most days. There is direct access from the door to walks in all directions. The market town of Hawes is just 1 and a half miles away. Rigg End is ideally placed to explore and discover the stunning scenery of the Yorkshire Dales.

El alojamiento
The cottage is a restored former farmhouse which is very characterful, charming and quirky with exposed stone walls, wooden ceiling beams and some stone flagged floors. There are wood burning stoves in both the cosy sitting room and the large farmhouse kitchen. (Initial supply of logs provided for each stove). The kitchen is well equipped. The cottage also benefits from oil fired central heating. There is a large boot room to the rear of the property with a separate toilet/ utility area. Upstairs there are 3 double bedrooms, all of which have open unrestricted views of the garden and fell. The bathroom has a bath, toilet and separate shower. All bed linen and towels are provided. The furnishings throughout are tasteful and include some antique pieces. The cottage is also home to original art work and pottery. Outside, the south facing garden offers a peaceful and private setting and has seating and tables to enjoy al fresco dining as well as the wonderful views.

Burtersett, Inglaterra, Reino Unido

Burtersett is a small hamlet with a great community spirit. It is home to working farms as well as to permanent residents. Visitors come to enjoy the dale throughout the year. Situated one and a half miles from Hawes, it is easy to walk, drive or cycle into town but also far enough away to escape to peace and quiet. The dark skies are amazing.
Burtersett has a thriving Village Institute and whist is played there on Monday evenings - visitors welcome. The Institute is also open on a daily basis for self service teas and coffees. This is very popular with walkers. The Institute organizes an annual show which takes place on the last Sunday in July. Burtersett also has an artists gallery and the resident artist is very welcoming.
Rigg End is ideally placed for exploring Wensleydale as well as the adjoining dales including Swaledale and Wharfedale. The scenery is stunning at any time of year and the area is an outdoor enthusiasts paradise. The Pennine 3 peaks of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent are within easy driving distance and many people challenge themselves to walk them all in a day.
Nearer by, Semerwater in Raydale, can be accessed on foot directly from the door and this is a beautiful and quiet place which is home to one of only 2 natural lakes in the Yorkshire Dales.
The Wensleydale Ice Cream Parlour is around 7 miles ‘down dale’ and the famous Aysgarth Falls as featured in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves are around 8 miles away. Bolton Castle, where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned is also just a short and picturesque drive away. Richmond is around 20 miles away but certainly worth a visit as it has a great castle and a variety of shops. Middleham, also about 20 miles away has a fascinating castle as well as an active horse racing industry and the horses can be seen on the gallops above the village.

We are fortunate to have a group of red squirrels living in the nearby woods and they visit the garden most days to feed.
In the Summer we also have swallows nesting in the barn and we regularly see bats and owls.
Curlews, Oystercatchers, Lapwings, Snipes, Short Eared Owls and Skylarks are all regular visitors to the fell.
