Naveen's review is as completely dishonest and untrustworthy as he was from Day 1. Do not rent to N, and do not believe anything he says, he hides much of the truth and parts of his review are outright lies. I sent documentation and proof of all surcharges to AirBnB from his 48 day stay. They judged these to be fair and correct and paid me for the damages. I believe they charged ($300) his security deposit for items charged. If for some reason they didn't, it certainly would have been completely warranted.
Naveen WANTED to rent the entire condo and then 1) not pay for his 3-year old daughter (who would obviously be there with his wife, who he was renting for) and 2) not even disclose that his wife would also be with a new baby 1/2 way thru his 48-day stay. His review hides and skews many truths, as is consistent with his cheating and dishonest behavior from Day 1 to 48. BY MISTAKE he booked ONLY the MASTER BDRM instead of ENTIRE CONDO for his wife and father, HAVING NOT READ THE LISTING - so what if the picture of the living room is the same for the two listings, you have to READ THE HEADLINE AND THE LISTING! How could one possibly be so careless??). Once he realized he would be sharing with me and other guests, he had to come clean and REVEAL the 3rd guest (I charge for more than 2) and the 4th guest (baby) that would be there 20+ days. ATTEMPTED FRAUD. He wouldn't pay the extra guest fee, so said he agreed to move his wife and daughter out. He thought I was not around, but when I appeared they were still there the 2nd day. I charged him for the +guest and he paid.
Naveen left the place VERY DIRTY and there was a photo taken out of one of my frames. He also left for LA 11 days before the check out date saying he would return on a day TBA, locked keys in the condo, only locked one of the 3 locks therefore, WANTING ME TO ARRANGE getting him the keys again for his return date TBA. He later specified the date of return, I arranged the keys for him, but he never came back. So essentially, he left 11 days early but without checking out, cleaning or finalizing his stay in any way. This was representative of his whole stay: negligent, dishonest, chaotic, non-communicative, full of non-disclosure and VERY mysterious behavior.
Naveen writes that others were there, but when you rent ONE ROOM ONLY in the house, YOU SHARE, and as many people can come and go as the host WISHES.
There are usually parking spots on our street, but unfortunately there was a huge emergency water main construction during N's stay which SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED parking on our street. This was unfortunate, but he didn't mention it at all until now.
For extra safety (tho I've never had any problems), I ask that people lock at least one if not both deadbolts when leaving. Deadbolts not so important for short absences but N left the condo UNSECURED FOR 11 DAYS (only locking the doorknob and not the deadbolt). So, I had to call somebody to lock the deadbolts.
Beyond the 2 guests, 6 other people came and hung out each day, as if he had rented the whole condo as he intended to. 8 would have been staying there if he had succeeded in renting the whole condo, but it was more $ so he refused. So his renting only the Master was a godsend in the end, because it allowed me to enforce how many people he could have there, as he had only paid for 1 room and 2 people. I had to charge him for add'tl guests twice.
Some lies in his response are: Couch not smelly. Guestroom closet door worked but I had handyman make it slide more easily. I did offer N $100 off, but had to hold this back to see how he left the place and he cost me so much money with all his negligence and how FILTHY he left the place, that I used his $100 for addt'l cleaning and replacing missing items.There is plenty of room in the closets for guests. I did not ask for $ for carpet cleaning, only for cleaning the bathrooms, basic mopping and sweeping and counter cleaning and dusting none of which were done for 48 days. He paid a $20 ST cleaning fee and it is in my listing that LT tenants must clean for themselves and will be charged more like $100 if the place not cleaned during and left extraordinary dirty after a LT stay.
This was a horrible experience and I warn everybody against renting to Naveen. He is the worst kind of fraudulent, lieing / cheating operator. Tries to take advantage of anything he possibly can and very careless, negligent and not conscientious at all. His parents, who ended up staying most of the time, however, are lovely people.
