Feel at home, a full kitchen, comfortable bed (homemade quilt) and my adorable 2 cats (no care required, petting appreciated PURR). 1 room AC and a couple of fans keep it comfortable. I like a clean home but not a neat freak. Free street parking, 3 blocks to train that takes 15 min.downtown. Try the nbhd park and restaurants, Laguanita's brewry (good food & music). Its a safe, friendly nbhd (I and many nbrs here over 20 years), but guests should be comfortable with urban nbhds.
A classic Chicago bungalow home, homey living room (with piano) and sunny kitchen to relax. Private backyard a nice place to relax, enjoy morning coffee.

I love Chicago and I love exploring the variety of cultures and neighborhoods, the architecture, the history, the restaurants, (you get the message). One of my heroines is Jane Addams, the first woman to receive the Noble Peace Prize (and the settlement home she started is near my home). I like to share tips, info for exploring and having fun in Chicago on a budget. I'm glad to share my other apartment for fellow travelers, making people feel at home.
I have lived in my neighborhood for many years, own and live in my 2 flat that was built at the turn of the century. I garden and like to be "green" with my home such as composting. I work with nonprofit organizations (aka NGO's) that support underserved communities. I have done international travel (Mexico, western Europe, China, Vietnam) as well as enjoying U.S. travel. For me, travel has been a way to learn and to exchange, a way to improve the world.
