The location was perfect as the apartment is close enough to walk to everything within the town yet have safe and private parking. The views of the Alpilles were fantastic during breakfast on the balcony. Communication was quick and effective and some great tips from the host on places to go nearby.

This is a great place in a central location. Beautiful views from the balcony. I enjoyed the upstairs bedroom with an additional balcony. Quiet neighborhood. Book this place now.

Phillipe and his wife were gracious hosts. My French is definitely not perfect, and we still seemed to understand each other. The place is even better than the pictures. It's very quiet there, peaceful and pleasant. If I return to St. Rémy, I would request this again. It was lovely.

Philippe is an excellent host and the pictures he has up of his place absolutely do not do it justice. The view from the terrace is amazing and my girlfriend and I particularly loved having breakfast there in the morning and wine and cheese there in the evening. The view of the Alpilles is spectacular and breathtaking. It's an easy walk to everywhere you want to go in St. Remy. When checking in, Philippe shared some wine with us and gave us some great recommendations that we didn't have on our list and that were really spectacular. We fell in love with St. Remy on this trip and cannot wait to go back.

Apartment as described. Very well fitted out. Much appreciated both the dish washer and the clothes washer. Close to the city center, with a boulangerie a few yards away. Very quiet, lots of privacy, easy access and parking for car. Host friendly and helpful. St Remy is the perfect place to base a trip to Provence. Lots of restaurants. If you want to cook your own meals, the Intermarché has everything you need (as well as having and excellent deli and butchers). Not so easy to find though - not the fault of the host, blame the one way system. We would like to return. Maybe this coming year.

Philippe was a charming and gracious host and the apartment was great. It's much nicer than the pictures suggest and the view from the main balcony is spectacular. The parking spot is completely secure and very easy to get in and out of. The apartment is quiet and well-located -- just a short walk to the center of St Remy de Provence. There are manuals for the appliances. We had a little trouble opening the washer door. Put three fingers on the back of the latch right in the center. Put your thumb on the beveled edge next to the glass. Push with your thumb while pulling on the latch. It takes a little effort. If you are used to making quick presses on a smart phone, the cooktop controls are challenging at first. With the cooktop, you need to hold your press for about a second to make it work. The kitchen is very well equipped and there are a couple of good grocery stores within walking distance and a boulangerie just up the street from the apartment. Try the eclairs. If you are interested in Van Gogh, there are many options in the neighborhood. You can walk to the asylum where Van Gogh did much of his best work and see his room there. You can also walk to the famous Glanum archeological site. If you look from the terrace up into the Alpilles, you can see a rock with two holes in it. There's a spectacular hike up to that rock where you can look back at St. Remy through the holes. The start of the hike is at the asylum. It takes 2 to 3 hours. Be sure you have a trail map as there are a number of trails in the rocks and it's easy to take a wrong turn. There are two Van Gogh paintings of the specific rocks you see from the apartment balcony. Look for them in the Estrine Museum gift shop in the center of town. They're available as both postcards and posters. There is also a shorter, but more challenging hike to a pretty lake near Glanum. Go just past Glanum and look for the sign on the right that marks the beginning of the trail. It's steep and rocky and when you reach the top, you have to go down through a fairly scary, nearly vertical, tunnel in the rock to get to the lake. We did it in tennis shoes, but hiking boots would definitely help. You can also drive to the lake (we walked back from the lake to the apartment on the road). Don't miss the hilltop town of Les Baux and especially the nearby Carrières de Lumières. It's an art and music exhibition where the images are projected onto the walls, floor, and ceiling of a huge quarry inside the mountain. The pictures don't do it justice. It's one of the most amazing things we have ever seen. The show changes regularly.
