The house is old. My stay was on the 2nd floor, the floor was cranky makes noises when you walk. Less ventilation, Weird smell, small room. Please don't go on the pictures you see in the description. I didn't want to be rude so left the place within one day.

Respuesta de Maxim:
This guest attempted to abandon his reservation because he claimed that he had found a permanent living situation. My home is a historic one, and fully restored. I have no doubt that the floors creak, but he is ABSOLUTELY false in his allegations. Appropriately, this guest was penalized by AirBnB.

Great Host including also the wonderful house keeper both of which gave me the grand tour; friendly; located very close to the city via vehicle; Plenty of parking; a perfect place to call home away from home, short or long term for people touring or working or studying in the NY/NJ areas!

If you need a middle spot to get to NYC or Newark, this is a great one. I did not get to meet Maxim, but Tracy, his host, was extremely kind and helpful. She assisted me with directions on how to use public transportation to/from and around the area. The house is pretty classic when you walk around. A very nostalgic look. The room was nice and quaint. Only issue was the wireless tends to drop out every now and then. I was there for work for about 2 weeks (as I work in Newark), and didn't spend time exploring the direct area. You are literally no more than about 30 minutes from NYC and about 1.5hrs from Newark if you take public transportation. I would easily recommend this BNB and would stay there again.

I didn't end up seeing the host until about a week after I got their. A nice woman, Tracy, who helps take care of the house and also lives there was able to show me my (URL HIDDEN) actual street that the house lives on is nice but the neighborhood in every direction is not a good one. Paterson is actually one of the most dangerous parts of New Jersey I learned to find out shortly after I arrived. Pros: People that live there are nice. Large house with large kitchen. Great pool if you are there during warm months. Cons: Terrible neighborhood. Internet doesn't really reach up into the bedroom. It cuts in and out at best. The bed is terrible..only about 1/3rd of the bed is flat and the rest of it has broken springs so it sits about 8 inches lower than the rest of the bed. They have a dog that is from an abused home that lives in the kitchen. It constantly barks at you for about the first month you live there and the owners don't seem to care. It doesnt' make you feel very welcome when you are trying to make dinner and the dog is constantly barking at your heels. Also the kitchen smells like where an untrained dog lives..if you catch my drift.

My boyfriend Matt and I really enjoyed our stay at Maxim's place. I loved seeing the art and history of the house, and the room was well equipped - I appreciated the shelves and closet space. It definitely felt cozy rather than cramped. I didn't meet Maxim, but Tracy and his mom were so welcoming! If you stay here, drive around the neighborhood and check out the falls to round out a lovely time.

I am fun loving, progressive guy, with a great family. Sense of humor runs deeply in our family. We are multigenerational, enjoy history and travel, and dedicated to making the world a better place. I teach philanthropy and enjoy getting to know peoples' passions. My motto is we didn't know we could change the world until we tried.
