Please note this property is strictly NON SMOKING anywhere in the premises or grounds. We cannot make exceptions, so if this is likely to impact your stay we'd advise not continuing to book. If you have any questions before you book please send us a message.

Whilst we do accept guests with children please note the property isn't set up specifically for this purpose, so we do not have high chairs or cots etc. Your are welcome to message us should you have any questions.
UPDATE: We have decided to increase the length of stays at this time to support key workers. We are therefore following the new guidelines in relation to enhanced cleaning and hosting by AirBnB. Normally we put in a small selection of breakfast items and other little touches into the property for guests to enjoy, however we have been advised not to do so at this time as an added precaution. We will endeavour to have basic cleaning and sanitary items in the property such as t-rolls and soap etc but there has been unprecedented demand for these item in the locality and issues with sourcing these between change overs, so we would recommend guests bring any essential personal hygiene products with them. Whilst we are taking all these additional measures no one can suggest risks are not present in these times and we suggest guests follow advice given by AirBnB, the government & health professionals on matters such as hand washing and social distancing.

We’ll continue to monitor and follow recommendations wherever possible as the situation evolves.

The property is in a perfect location to enjoy local recreational parks, reservoir & countryside walks, & is located only a short walk from the Elsecar Heritage Centre - Elsecar is a remarkable village, transformed by the Earls Fitzwilliam into a thriving centre of iron and coal. Visitors can browse the Earls Fitzwilliam’s workshops, now packed with shops, traditional cafes, delicatessens and antiques. The locality contains numerous landmarks, fairs, events, museum sites, farm shops, garden centres, stately homes, country parks, walled gardens & other places of interest. So there is plenty to see and do. For example you can walk or drive into Wentworth to visit local country pubs, the Wentworth Garden Centre with its famous tea rooms, gardens, visit the family farm to see llamas, meerkats etc. You can also now not only take a walk in the grounds of the Wentworth Woodhouse Estate on the look out for deer, but take a guided tour around the house & enjoy the tearooms and gift shop. The property is a short walk from a fabulous local fish & chip shop, and also delivery is available from local takeaways, & there is and abundance of good local food & drink to be found at numerous pubs & bistros in nearby villages & countryside. For those that prefer to dine in there is a local Tesco for supplies. If fitness is your thing there is an abundance of great walking, running & cycling routes along the canals, country parks, countryside & also a local sports centre with a gym & swimming pool open to the public.
