The house is heated by a wood burning stove. Firewood is provided and it heats the place up great! There is no central heating.
The house is cooled by a swamp cooler (aka evaporative cooler). The low humidity in the valley makes this type of cooling the most effective and efficient. Tips for using the swamp cooler are in the guide book.
A tenant lives in the downstairs studio. Please respect her privacy and keep noise levels down in the evenings.
Please declare all pets in your initial request. The house is pet-friendly but I need to know if you will be bringing your furry friend(s) so that I can properly prepare the house.
Quiet time from 10PM - 8AM but come and go as you please! No smoking indoors. Keep pets off the beds and furniture and don't leave dogs unattended if they bark. Covers are provided for couches.
Keep door to wood stove closed at all times and use caution when operating.
