One of the best Airbnb's I've stayed at. Beautiful flat in a very lively and tourist friendly area. Plenty of bars and restaurants around and in a good spot to easily access most areas of Malta. Joseph was very kind and helpful. We felt right at home in the flat. Would definitely stay here again.

This unit is in a great location right in Buggiba square. Food, drinks, nightlife, beach and great gelato are all only 2 mins walk away. If you are looking to scuba dive in Malta then this is the area to stay as there are plenty of scuba shops around the corner. Joseph communicated quickly with us and arranged an easy check in. Unit is as described. Would stay again.

Logement très bien situé, parfait pour accéder à toute l'île de manière pratique. Nous avions une voiture donc pas toujours facile de se garer car il n'y a pas de parking mais ça n'a pas gâché notre séjour. Pour les personnes qui souhaitent circuler en bus tout est accessible! Logement en plein coeur du centre ville. Ville animée et festive! Joseph est très sympa et présent s'il y a besoin.

I had a good experience with Airbnb (in terms of support and assistance) but a terrible one with my host. A week before reaching Malta, he cancelled my reservation because I asked info about extra prices. Unbelievable! He was leaving me, my wife and my 20-month-old son without any place to stay one week before starting vacations!! Then, after two days, thanks to the rapid intervention of Airbnb (both from Italy and the US), he readmitted us to the apartment. The conditions of the apartment were very bad. Above all, the electric system was unsafe. It is probably not even in compliance with safety standards and very dangerous for children. Then, everything (floors, balcony, bathroom, bedrooms, etc.) was very dirty. After complaining, the host sent someone to clean. The kitchen sink was clogged and did not drain well. This obliged us to have lunch and dinner outside – thus spending money in restaurants – all the time. Only after several complaints, the host came to (partially) solve the issue. Most lamps and furniture were old, broken and/or simply rusty. Mould and damp on walls. In addition, music from outside went until around 3am making our stay with a 20-month-old baby very uncomfortable. In terms of costs, once we arrived, the host warned us that we were going to be extra-charged at the end of the stay for electricity and water expenses. We asked Airbnb for clarifications and they answered that “extra charges are simply not admitted”. So, we were not supposed to pay anything more. I think that this apartment does not meet Airbnb’s high quality standards. I have a long experience using Airbnb – normally through my wife’s account – and we’ve always gave and received positive feedback. I use to travel a lot and meet interesting people also thanks to Airbnb’s lovely apartments. In the end, I hope Airbnb will try its best to remove this host and its apartment for their system. I will also complain with Maltese tourism offices and with any other possible agencies in order to avoid other people will face the same treatment during a – supposedly relaxing – vacation trip. We are at full disposal for sending photos and more detailed feedback on our terrible stay in this apartment. (URL HIDDEN)

Manuel as you can see the only bad review I have in 2 years is yours. The experience I had with Manuel was a bad one, after booking the Apartment, days before arrival Manuel informed me he would like to get 2 more guests, obviously I I asked him to pay the extra fee for 2 more guests, Manuel insisted it was same price up to 4 people so I had to cancel the booking as this was not what we had agreed upon. After that he realised that he will not find another apartment in the area with same price as my apartment is very centrally located. So we both agreed to leave everythng this same and the booking was reactivated after I worked very closely with airbnb. Manual arrived on time, I went to open apartment for him. I gave him tour around the apartment, which was clean as always as a I have been using same housekeeper for the past 2 years with no problems. Two days after he moved in he complained that the Apartment was not clean. So I sent him the house keeper to clean again and she messaged me that apartment was full of sand from the beach. And that the guest have made a mess everywere. I cleaned apt again at no extra cost to accommodate Manual. Manuel than complained that the sink was not draining and I went myself to check but this was not factual. Manuel left apartment dirty and with a broken lampshade in living room. I did not charge anything for it. Would think twice before excepting Manuel as guest.

The Good Stuff The apartment is right in the heart of the action with many restaurants and pubs and clubs right on the doorstep. Cost for staying in the apartment was very reasonable, making it very affordable for a family of four or six to have a cheep get away The kitchen has all the things needed to prepare meals if eating out isn’t your thing. There is a washer and dryer at the rear of the property, which came in very handy for swim ware etc. Lots of towels were provided by Joseph, which we weren’t expecting. The Bad Stuff The leather couch shown in the picture has long since gone having been replaced by a sofa bed, as has the large screen TV again replaced by a smaller model. Try as I might I couldn’t find the cable TV advertised on the site. This may be a problem for some family’s with children that need distracting whilst they get ready to go out. This problem can be solved, as Netflix’s is available. The drains smelled a bit on a morning when we were cleaning our teeth and needed a quick looking at with the plunger. The bed has been badly repaired in the middle so there is a large amount of roll together and a large hump in the middle. When the apartment was decorated and furnished a great deal of care was taken to get a very high end and stylish look unfortunately after time it is looking a little tiered with visible wirers from missing socket fronts and a broken lamp shade above the dinning table to mention a couple. The music from the clubs out side started at around 10pm and went on until around 3am. Obviously this is out of josephs control but it may be a problem for some family’s with children. The noise is a lot quieter in the bedrooms. A hot tub is mentioned on the amenity’s list the closest there is, is a bath It clearly says that we would be charged for electric and water dependant on use, which we were. We were never given a start figure or an amount per unit price. It cost us an additional £52.00 All in all we enjoyed our stay in bugibba and we felt the accommodation was correctly priced for what it offered. We think that the pictures on airbnb could be updated to stop any confusion but the one thing that I think is a must, is a new bed as the one in the apartment has seen its last.
