El alojamiento
There are three unique bedrooms. The master bedroom has a beautiful hand-made king-size driftwood bed and mirror from Wales. The small double is a comfortable cozy bedroom designed for a single person and the third bedroom has two single beds ideal for children or adults with a tasteful countryside theme. A travel cot and fixed stair gate are provided.
The kitchen is very well equipped with fridge freezer, double oven, microwave, dishwasher, tv and table to seat 6 people. We also provide a high chair, and a quirky snug area with patchwork armchairs.
The sitting-room has two comfortable sofas, a leather armchair, French oak coffee table, smart tv and cozy wood-burner. The upstairs main bathroom has a bath with shower attachment and the en-suite to the master bedroom has a shower. There is a further downstairs toilet.
A large washing machine and dryer are provided in the sunny conservatory.
There is a large enclosed garden with a patio where there is a brick built BBQ, rustic wooden seating and two relaxer chairs.
There is a large garden with a grassy flat area at the back and front but with sloping access. The remainder of the garden is shrubbery and is surrounded by open fields - often grazed with sheep. The garden has five bar gates for the back and front areas. It is fenced but a determined dog could escape. We do allow one well behaved small dog at an additional cost of £3 per day, payable to the host. The cottage is semi-detached with a quiet neighbour.

Acceso para huéspedes
Guests have a private house, garden and BBQ area, with shared use of a heated indoor swimming pool at nearby Cheverton Farm. Please note that the farm is about 200m from the cottage and guests may choose to drive there as there is no roadside pavement.

Ubicación

Isle of Wight, Inglaterra, Reino Unido

The area around the cottage is called the Bowcombe Valley (meaning beautiful) in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are often sheep grazing in the field opposite and abundant wildlife in the surrounding fields and woods including hares, buzzards, partridges and red squirrels. You may even catch sight of the recently released Sea Eagles! Despite this feeling of being in a rural retreat, it is only a 10 minute drive to the local main town of Newport and less to a grocery shop. It is a similar distance to beautiful sandy beaches on the south coast of the island and only a mile to the local pub for a delicious meal. The cottage ideally suited to reaching any of the island’s many tourist attractions including Carisbrooke Castle which is at the head of the Valley.

Andrew and I moved to the Isle of Wight in 1986 and have farmed at Cheverton Farm since that time. Andrew now runs the 730 acre mixed arable and livestock farm with our elder son Jack as well as a few other farms and various diversifications including a meat-ageing facility and butchery. Our younger son Sam is a professional mountain bike dirt jumper and has set up the mountain bike centre on the farm. I work as a specialist dyslexia assessor and run two holiday cottages. We built our own house on the farm in 2013 which has been a dream come true. We love to welcome guests to the farm to enjoy the peace and many attractions of the farm.
