The Lakeside is about 1,000 sq. ft., & was completely renewed in 2013 & freshened every spring. Private entrance, bedroom, living room, dinette & kitchen. Enjoy old world charm with the comforts of today. This side sports a deck in the trees. We also rent the Tower side. This is a very hilly, beautiful area along the lake; park-like with all the trees.
This was a family home until the l930's, when the upstairs was converted into two apartments. We rent the lakeside & new this year, the tower. Guests have about 1,000 square feet and private entrance. Also new to the Lakeside Suite is a day bed, with new mattress (twin). We live on the main floor and try to be available if you have any questions.
Disponible para huéspedes
We have a new driveway as of 4-20-16. It does require an AWD or 4WD to maneuver the hill, otherwise parking is above in our usual parking spots. If you have a car, there are stairs down to the house and up to the suites. We are happy to help with luggage. I can provide coffee for the c.maker & muffins. If you wish to cook, the kitchen has the necessary equipment--you bring the food. Otherwise, there is a sweet coffee shop, Lingonberry's, about 3 blocks away.
Atención a los huéspedes
We try to be accessible at all times, but respect our guests wishes for privacy.
We have a very friendly black Labrador, who can stay out of your way or be a new best friend--as you wish.

In our yard, you can go down to the lake, though the beach is just a block away. We have a small basketball court and a fire pit for smores. There are several kinds of bike rides, serene nature-filled flat rides to as many hills as one could ask you're up for a challenge. Fishing & hunting are big activities here, and swimming, and so much nature to see--virgin prairie, birds of all types, the wildlife refuge, the lake, the Nielson Park Trails, and my personal favorite, all sunsets right out front.
We try to provide a clean, quiet sleep environment. Quiet hours 11p.m. to 10a.m. The apartment is smoke and pet-free. Guests are expected to:
Clean the dishes and kitchen after each use.
Bring the umbrella & chair cushions in from the deck, and put down storm windows if a storm is approaching.
Keep windows and doors shut if AC or heat is on.
Use the Make-up removal wipes & dark towels for said purpose. Use of the white towels may be charged to the damage deposit.
We ask that all items used to decorate the apartment stay in the apartment, though I'm always open to a sale, so keep an itemized list and the values.
You are important to us. Please let me know if you have a question.

My favorite things are photography, writing, sculpting, and meeting new people who come through this little town. I walk everyday, love my family, reading, and growing flowers. I like food, but can't seem to commit to cooking, and always drop everything for storm clouds or a lovely sunset. As a host, I care that your beds are clean and comfortable (pillow tops), that everything is decorated well, and you get quiet for a good night's sleep. I've lived here for my forever and can direct you to nearly anything the area has to offer or know someone who can. I have lots of connections to help you have a great time. We have a 130-year-old home located on Big Stone Lake. It's pretty here, in the middle of the prairies, we are hills, valleys, trees, and water. My motto I suppose would be respect everyone and the earth.
