Our west-end apartment is a great base for all your Toronto adventures, with easy access to the subway and four streetcar lines. When you come home, enjoy a Jacuzzi, time on the back deck and all the books you can read!
This is home, but with a better bathroom. Seriously -- it's got a deep soaker tub with a Jacuzzi, and a shower streaming from the ceiling that lets you turn the whole room into the stage for an aquatic dance party.
The bedroom has a comfortable Queen-sized bed, with a clock radio/iPod dock on the bedside table, and a big closet. If you're traveling in a group of three or four, the couch in the living space pulls out into another Queen-sized bed.
Speaking of which, the apartment's living area is warm and cozy, with the comfortable sofa and a rocking chair, plus two bookcases full of board games, trivia puzzles, magazines, knitting needles and yarn (and instructions, if you want to try something new), and of course, books, from Babar to the Brontës.
The fully-equipped kitchen is also stocked with basic condiments, and the dining table comfortably seats four.
Full disclosure -- this is a basement apartment, and not suitable for the super-tall. Ceiling heights range from 6'6 to 5'8 (where the bulkhead is), although guests up to 6'2" have not had a problem.
Also note that the sound insulation isn't great. We try our best to keep our voices down, but you may hear rumblings of conversation upon occasion.
Disponible para huéspedes
You'll have a private back entrance, and are welcome to use the deck.
Atención a los huéspedes
I probably won't be home when you arrive but try to say hi to each guest at least once during their stay. I live just upstairs, however, and am always available by text or email to answer any questions or give any tips about the apartment or Toronto.
Otros aspectos destacables
We love books, and the apartment is well-stocked with picture books, middle-grade and YA novels, classic literature, fun beach reads and thrillers, and non-fiction too. You'll also have access to recent issues of Toronto Life magazine to help you dive into this city, and if you ever hanker after something else to read, just knock -- we'd be happy to show you around our library too!
We have a cat, but he never goes into the basement apartment.
No smoking and no parties. If you're staying for a week or more, you'll be responsible for taking out your garbage/recycling.
I'm a magazine writer and a law student, and I love reading, running, cider, tea, and attempting to cook and knit.
Istanbul and Strasbourg are two of my favourite cities, and my travel bucket list includes Newfoundland, Athens, New Zealand and Hong Kong.
