Ubicación fantástica
El 100 % de los últimos huéspedes han valorado con 5 estrellas la ubicación.
Secluded, tranquil and comfortable; set 30m back from the beach with beautiful views of the bay looking over to Opua. Whilst this property retains its character as a quintessential Kiwi Bach, it is immaculately presented, having been tastefully redecorated inside.

It is uniquely nestled into 3/4 acre of land & is the only residence in the bay. Described by many as the ideal Writers’ retreat, Tyson’s Bach exudes character, peace & inspiration. The perfect space to relax, contemplate and dream.

Ubicación

Okiato, Northland, Nueva Zelanda

Fun facts:

1. Did you know that Okiato (not Russell) was in fact the first Capitol of New Zealand? Check the plinth out 200m up the road.

2. The infamous NZ drug dealer (“Mr Asia”) Terry Clark owned a house, affectionately nick-named by the locals as “Cannabis Castle”. It sits proudly on the Okiato Point just up the road – best viewed from the water or the rocks below.

3. Okiato is a historical area known for its boat building and car ferry landing – there is still an old boat shed on the beach below the Bach and another in the adjacent bay to the south which has was to be restored as a holiday home.

4. The Opua Wharf was a busy, bustling hive of commercial activity, vital to the economic well-being of the area, fed by rail that came in through kawakawa and beyond. Cruise ships regularly docked there until 20 odd years ago.

5. The original owners of the property were the Deemings. In fact, they were also the original owners of the car ferry. In those days it was a barge that was towed and tugged by a small launch.

6. Final fun fact - This is where you will have one of the best holidays of your life!!!

I'm a passionate 3rd generation Kiwi. Like many New Zealanders I spent my 20's immersed in a Kiwi OE, travelling the world, discovering interesting places and cultures. Then on a trip home to see family I finally “discovered” my own beautiful country. That stopped me in my tracks! 35 years on, I own Chauffeur Services NZ Ltd and have the privilege of assisting overseas visitors to experience their own authentic and awe-inspiring Kiwi holiday experience. We transfer tourists, politicians, dignitaries, Golfers, Sports people and other A Listers to their many and varied destinations. We also do exclusive tours to showcase the best that this country has to offer. Should you or friends ever require chauffeur services or a bespoke tour of the North Island search online for Chauffeur Services NZ Ltd. With active interests in property, travel, sailing, environmental issues, world affairs and people; this eclectic mix of interests, in-depth knowledge of New Zealand, a dry sense of humour and pure passion provides me with the necessary attributes to give visitors a true insight into real New Zealand.
