Peace and Plenty Horse Farm is an 86-acre, stunning rural escape located in Frederick County, two miles from Historic New Market, 45 minutes from Gettysburg, and an hour from Baltimore or Washington D.C. Feel free to explore our farm’s trails and hidden gems, play yard games with the family, or swim in our heated lap pool (open from May through October). Our generous space is suitable for a couple's get-away, a weekend with friends, a family vacation, a working vacation, or a quiet retreat.

El alojamiento
Our pool house is a two-story guest home with vista views from every window. The heated, freshwater lap pool is open from the beginning of May through the middle of October. The outdoor grill is yours to enjoy, along with a fire pit, plenty of outdoor seating, and flower gardens.

Inside, the first floor entertainment area boasts a bar with seating for six, kitchenette, a sitting area, a shower room with over-sized double-headed shower & sauna, and a separate half bath. The kitchenette includes a refrigerator, microwave, oven, dishwasher, and a single-burner induction cook-top.

Upstairs you will find a private bedroom with a king-sized bed and a view of the most glorious morning light striking across the valley. The spacious loft holds two double beds. Additional air mattresses are available if needed. A balcony overlooking the pool spans the width of the home. The home is fully temperature controlled.

Our spring-fed pond is full of bass. We have a few fishing rods around for adults and kids if you get a hankering to throw out a line.

Have horses? Bring them along, too! Our spacious 22-stall barn and 12 large double-fenced pastures are ready for your riding companions. Although we do not have an arena, we have plenty of riding trails around our 86-acre farm. Boarding arrangements can be made on a case-by-case basis.

Well-behaved, socialized dogs are welcome, with prior approval. Due to our own farm animals and pets, guest dogs must stay on leash whenever they are outside the fenced-in pool area. Crates are available if your furry family member is accustomed to being crated. A one-time, non-refundable pet deposit of $25 per dog will be added upon confirmation of booking. Please clean up after your dog.

Our nightly base rate is for up to 4 guests. Additional guests rate is $25 per additional guest, per night.

We encourage Long-term Guests! The following discounts are automatically applied:
10% discount for bookings of 7 - 27 nights.
20% discount for bookings of 28 nights or more.

Peace and Plenty Horse Farm is a historic farm that has been under the ownership and care of Dan Lucas since (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) The 86-acre farm is double fenced with three residences, an old bank barn (remodeled to accommodate 22 stalls), and a spring-fed pond. The original old stone house was built in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) by the Hammond family, and remains the main residence. Dan Lucas has been breeding and raising race horses for over thirty years, in both the Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse industries. His greatest success as a breeder actually began with a Maryland Thoroughbred mare that he acquired in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , named In The Curl. Recognizing her pedigree of speed, he was convinced that she would cross well on Quarter Horses, and the very first Quarter Horse stallion that he bred her to was Runaway Winner. The resulting foal was a spit-fire of a filly that he named Runaway Wave. She had a respectable career as a racehorse, but nothing compared to what she has become as a broodmare. Dan bred Runaway Wave to the legendary First Down Dash to produce Ocean Runaway (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Champion and earner of over 1 Million), Wave Carver (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) World Champion and earner of over 1 Million), as well as many other graded stakes winners and performers. Runaway Wave earned the honor of Dam of Distinction and Broodmare of the Year in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Then in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , Runaway Wave’s cumulative progeny earnings of $ (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) crowned her the All-Time Leading Broodmare of Racing American Quarter Horses. She still holds the title to this day with total progeny earnings of over $4 million. The grand old mare is now retired and enjoying the pastures at Peace and Plenty.
