El lugar

One night stays are available midweek and possibly some weekends. Email us and we'll tell you what's available. 2 hours from NYC. The stream side cabin is situated in a very unique location in that it is walking distance to the Delaware River and all its boating attractions. By the same token its a also just far enough away from the action to still give you the space you need to get away from it all. Very quiet and peaceful setting as you can see from the pictures. Another major attraction close by is The Bethel Woods Entertainment Complex and Woodstock Museum where concerts and events take place throughout the summer and its just a 20 minute drive. Also nearby is the world famous Kadampa Buddhist Temple and Meditation Center in Glen Spey only a 15 minute drive. There is also a micro-brewery which is new to the area and classic car restoration dealer for viewings and sales. There is a large art community in this area as well as many antique shops and galleries in Narrowsburg NY just up the river 10 minute drive from our location. There are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity as well as a large Pecks Supermarket close by. Milford, PA and Honesdale PA with their fine stores and art galleries also a nearby popular tourist destination as well. It is said that Honesdale has the largest Salvation Army store in the northeast with amazing bargains open year round except Sundays.

We have a sheet with house rules but overall our main concern is that our guests take care of the cabin by cleaning up after themselves and not leaving food out to attract wildlife to close to the buildings. There is no smoking in the cabin but guests are welcome to smoke on the outside decks. We have septic system so we ask that only toilet paper go down the toilet. Since the main house is in close proximity we ask that guests be courteous of other peoples space. When your stay is over at the cabin we ask that our guests clean up after themselves and put all garbage in bags.

Hopefully the cabin will be available for you for a future visit and you can let your Goldie (dog) run endlessly. However we are happy you came and enjoyed the 2nd choice we had to offer you in the Hamlet of Barryville. Take care.

This was our first time spending New Year's Eve away from the city and we are very happy that we got to spend it in Julio's cabin. Julio was very welcoming, accessible, and helpful. Julio was an excellent host. The only thing we didn't bring was milk and we asked him where we could go in the morning to buy it; although he gave us directions he brought us half a gallon in the morning. That was a very nice touch. The cabin is simple but cozy. My daughters loved it. It is nice for a family of six, like we were. We can't wait to go back.

We wanted to get away and go ski for a day somewhere in close proximity to the city. We chose this cabin since it's only a 10 minute drive to ski Big Bear in Lackawaxan, PA. The cabin is adorable. It looks exactly as pictured, with high ceilings and great view of a big field and trees through all the windows. Our dog loved being off his leash and running wild around that field. The cabin is up a hill, far away from the street, so it's nice if you want to let your dog, or kids run free. Julio was an amiable host, he greeted us and made sure we had towels, toiletries ect. The bedroom, and bed was comfy and everything was made up for our arrival. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans and a coffee maker. After my sad attempt at skiing, we came back and checked out the beautiful stream on the property that runs down to the Delaware river. Then, we made a fire outside in the fire pit and relaxed while enjoying the stars and quietness. It's was a chilly night, but the cabin has GOOD heat. We really enjoyed our stay, it was just the retreat we needed.

We are happy you enjoyed your retreat and we hope you got to take in views of some of the wildlife. Deer are out and about and there's a big owl that seems to be camping here too. We haven't seen this one yet but we can hear him! Take Care & Happy Holidays..:-)

Julio was friendly and tried to respond quickly to my inquiries. The cabin was in a great location and very private. There was a lot of land for my dog to run around and that was what we were looking for. The cabin itself, however, didn't appear to have been cleaned very well before we arrived. There were very few amenities in the cabin. We couldn't even cook because there was no cooking oil. In fact, there were no condiments of any kind. The only thing he provided was salt and pepper. In the morning, we couldn't make coffee because the filers that were there weren't the right kind for the coffee maker and we couldn't do dishes because there was no dish soap. Lastly, the wood burning stove wasn't working and that was also a bummer.

Sorry you didn't have a good experience whuch is very rare however I know for a fact that the cabin was delivered clean. Everything was scrubbed down, vacuumed and the floors were even polished and everything was launderd. Also there were plenty of cleaning supplies and dishwashing liquid in the cabinets but you must have not opened them or you would have seen them. Also I don't provide cooking oil or condiments that is something very personal to people's individual likings. Before we confirmed I told you the wood burning stove was not available and you asked me if we had a firepit which we do. As a courtesy I provided you with plenty of firewood for the firepit. The cabin has a rustic feel to it not to be misinterpreted with it not being well taken care of. Take care
