Dennis is lovely and being in Crestone at sunrise was beautiful. Definitely take him seriously when he says that your GPS will not get you to his house. And watch out for wildlife!

We got to the house later in the evening and it was no problem. Dennis gave us spot on directions to get there as GPS doesn't work in the area. After arriving we were shown our room. The doors were all silk sliding doors which was different but I was assured we were free to do whatever and that was comforting. We made arrangements for breakfast and then relaxed. It was a very calm environment. In the morning we came out and had a modest but delicious breakfast. A very pleasant and peaceful overall experience.

Dennis was more than a gracious host. His home is full of small, thoughtful touches (a copy of Walden, like a reminder; a cloth handkerchief waiting in the room...) and fuller still with the simple, lovely kindness with which he seems to fill the air.

Dennis was fast to respond to our last minute booking and very accommodating. His place is beautiful and clean. On our second day there he made a delicious breakfast! One of the best Airbnb we've stayed at.

Dennis's house is in a lovely area. He made us a delicious breakfast and the coffee was superb. The house is very quiet and we had a great night sleep.

Dennis was kind and welcoming, even on our late arrival. He turned in shortly after we got to his house, but made sure that we were settled before doing so. The house is definitely somewhat remote (as is the town of Crestone itself), but his directions were very good and we had no problem finding the house even arriving after dark. The home is cozy, and though divided only by shoji screens, we did not feel a looming lack of privacy between rooms. Dennis made a huge pot of coffee to share the next morning while we had a light breakfast and we had a great chat with him before heading out. We forgot an article of clothing (unknowingly), and he contacted us a couple of days later to arrange for mailing it back to us...very much appreciated! We would definitely stay with Dennis again!

I'm a long-time Zen student, recently (2015) ordained as a monk/priest. I'm very familiar with the guest-hosting process through years helping to run Zen retreat centers. I have also used Airbnb as a traveler—and had a great time on recent visit to Yorkshire, UK, at BnB near cricket ground. Sheer coincidence: my host attended same primary school I did . . . but fifty years after my time there. She, a Kenyan Muslim raised in UK; me a Brit, now Buddhist, resident fifty years in USA. We had a great time together.
