The Cottage is close to the chain ferry about 50 metres, which is a convenient link with Cowes taking foot passengers and vehicles between the hours of 6am and midnight. It operates using chains which do rattle a bit and also noise from the ramp being lowered. Light sleepers may find this a bit noisy. So please take this into account when choosing Anchor Cottage. Most of our guests are fascinated and enjoy watching this piece of maritime history ply its trade.
Where guests are enquiring about an extended stay. We like to meet first and discuss the terms and arrangements prior to accepting the booking.
Well behaved small dogs are welcome. But please clear up after them and do not allow them on the furniture.
We are close to fast flowing water and a busy entrance to the River Medina. Guests should be vigilant and please supervise young children at all times when outside. Smokers are requested not to smoke indoors.
Please tell us about damage or equipment failure so we can repair or replace quickly.
Please do not light barbecues on the balcony as the nonslip tiles will be damaged by embers.
Items provided for your comfort and convenience should not be used outside of the property. So please bring your own towels and rugs for the beach.
Seymour Court is a small area, so please be considerate over noise disturbing the neighbours.
Please enjoy the cottage and our lovely Island.
Thank you for your co -operation.
Originally from Ashtead in Surrey, I have lived on the Isle of Wight since my family moved here in 1974. With my husband Paul I enjoy sailing as do our two sons now both working away.
The Isle of Wight is a wonderful place and as you step off the ferry you feel a sense of stepping back in time. You can leave behind the bustle and pace of the Mainland and enjoy Island life.
We have been welcoming holiday visitors to Anchor Cottage for over 10 years and seen many regular visitors. I hope we can entice you to visit us and enjoy the delights of our beautiful island. We have recently opened 'Up the Creek" which is part of our family home, so if you would rather experience a quiet and secluded location rather than the bustling heart of Cowes Harbour this may be for you.
Which ever you choose we look forward to welcoming you.
