The Lodge comes with a fully equipped kitchen which leads out to a refurbished patio area with large wood fired BBQ & seating. Enjoy some morning meditation in our zen room or and evening glass of wine on the large upper decking.
Chill out in a hammock by the lake or have a pool tournament in the pool room!
If you like wildlife you are in for a treat with the forest so close to the Lodge we often have deer and other wildlife visiting.
The lodge is a short drive from a numbers of bustling villages, towns and beaches so there is plenty to do and explore in the area.
It’s a wonderful location for hiking, fishing, cycling, surfing, equestrian, hunting, walking or nature lovers!

. Hacketstown is a beautiful country village that sits high in the mountains and boasts stunning views of the Wicklow mountains and is also the ancestral home to Elvis Presley.

The village it’s self has two great cosy pubs Bolands and the corner that are friendly and definitely worth a visit .
The corner serves great pub food and if you like a burger try there classic it won’t be beaten.

. The village also has a fantastic butchers Sean Murphy’s for all your meat needs. Sean’s meat is locally sourced and hand picked by Sean himself.
SuperValu supermarket is next door and stocks everything you could need.
If you don’t feel like cooking there is the corner for food or Val’s chip shop.
Chinease and Indian can be delivered to the lodge.

• Glenmalure Lodge is located in the heart of the valley, a family run pub with a cosy atmosphere and open fires! Good traditional Irish food served daily!

• Glendalough the valley of two lakes with spectacular scenery, rich history, and abundant wildlife. Glendalough is a remarkable place that will still your mind, inspire your heart and fill your soul.

• After exploring Glendalough why not stop by for some food in the Wicklow Heather serving traditional Irish cuisine with locally sourced beef and lamb! Enjoy a varied and eclectic selection Irish whiskey’s in the writer’s room

• Tinahealy Farm Shop is great for delicious traditional home cooked Irish breakfast/lunch or scrumptious freshly baked scones and cakes! (they also provide packed lunches for hikers) Have fun in the children’s activity barn with indoor beach or stroll through their animal walkway.

• Horse riding lessons / treks can be booked with Doyles Equestrian centre just 15 minutes away.

• Book a lesson or paddle board with the surf shack, an hour away in Curracloe 7-mile-long beach! Running parallel to the beach is the Raven Nature which is a 3.5KM-long forest that is filled with pine trees and evergreens. The forest has a walking trail, which makes it accessible to almost everyone.

• Ballymoney beach is 40 mins away with stunning views of Ireland’s coastline, it has been awarded the Green Coast Award for the level of cleanliness and quality of the beach.

• Enjoy a day out at Rathwood (15 mins) with restaurants, beauty salon, furniture shops, fashion boutique, a maze planted in the shape of Ireland, deer park, forest walks, kids indoor and outdoor play areas, teddy bears picnic train and other great events throughout the year!

• The Wicklow Way is a combination of suburban parkland, forest trails, wild and scenic mountain landscape and finally rolling countryside offers a wonderfully varied, 8 to 10-day experience for a hill-walker of average fitness. En route the Wicklow Way passes mountain lakes, ruined buildings -stark reminders of previous widespread human habitation- occasional memorials to historic events of past centuries and extensive remains of the early Christian monastic settlement in the beautiful Glendalough valley.
