This top floor 2 bdrm condo is as unusual as it is beautiful! And with views of the Statute of Liberty and Manhattan from a private deck, you'll enjoy your time in as well as out. Convenient to 3 subways, restaurants, bars, and Prospect Park!
I live on the top floor in an unusual and wonderful condo in a 8 unit walkup building. The front door is 5 flights upstairs so packing light is recommended but when you arrive, you'll be greeted with a fully equipped kitchen (including a microwave, dishwasher, & crystal wine glasses for wine lovers), a deck that comfortably seats 5, has a charcoal grill & views of the Statute of Liberty & downtown Manhattan, & southern light coming from 2 story windows in the living room.
Then, you'll see stairs because my unit has 3 floors. The bedroom that is available is on the 2d floor. This room has shutters that overlook the living room, which allows for some air circulation (the window to the outside cannot open) and additional light when the living room blinds are open. The major light source for the room is a lovely dimmable crystal chandelier that hangs a bit low because of the low ceiling but is completely manageable, even for persons over 6 feet (or at least that's what my 6'3" roommate thought). There is a full-sized futon bed, built-in bookshelves, a walk-in closet with a custom reclaimed barn wood door, small table w/ 2 folding chairs, and a private full bathroom with a shower. The room is small & the ceiling is a bit low (6 feet upon entry, 7 feet for the rest of the room, closet, & bathroom) but very comfortable. In fact, I lived on the 2d floor for several years & loved it.
I have another room with a shared bath listed. If both rooms are rented at the same time, I will sleep on the couch in living room. If not, I will sleep in the unrented room. Either way, your room will be 100% private for you though not ideal should you have an overnight guest since myself & Herman will be there.
There will be clean sheets on your bed and a set of towels will be provided. If you need additional towels, linen, or blankets, pls do not hesitate to ask.
There is no smoking in the apartment, though outside on the deck or the balcony is okay.
Disponible para huéspedes
All guests will have access to the kitchen, deck, living room, & the washer/dryer in the utility closet. There is 55" flat screen tv with surround sound in the living room that can be connected to a laptop for theater-like streaming.
Atención a los huéspedes
I want my guests to enjoy the space & the city as much as I do but everyone's comfort level is different & I want to respect that so I will provide you with a list of instructions that should facilitate finding the nearest subways, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. It will be reasonably comprehensive but if you have any questions, pls don't hesitate to ask.
Also, I tend to work pretty long hours during the week so you'll have the space to yourself (well Herman will be there too) at that time but I am a bit of a homebody on the weekend so I might be bouncing around from the living room to the deck during that time. Feel free to sit & chat or go about your plans with very little exchange, either works fine with me.

My dog Herman is a fifty pound Argentinian dogo rescue (which looks like a pit mix) who may have been a lab in his previous life. He loves people and his greetings are a bit enthusiastic (he jumps on you twice then trots off then returns with a toy for you). Herm is allowed on the living room & patio furniture & even may want to lay next to you if you're sitting on them but he is not allowed into guests' rooms. All of that's to state, unless u are a lover of happy, goofy big dogs, this may not be the best choice for you.
My neighbors in the building and on my block are quiet and respectful. Pls extend the same courtesy to them and our shared spaces when you are here. Thx!

I'm a bit quirky and aside from the obvious priorities (friends, family, etc.), I like to say I'm also about Herman (my dog), Hops (I love IPAs), and Hobbits (or Hogwarts or really all things nerdy).
And I'm about jewelry design (sorry, no H-word for that). I am just starting out as a jewelrymaker so I have a day job to pay the bills. I have training in silversmithing and wax carving but am currently working exclusively using a CAD program. If you'd like to see my work (which is for sale, by the way. lol), feel free to ask.
I look forward to meeting you!
