Otros aspectos destacables
The flat is attractively positioned on the third floor. However typical of a Georgian tenement this entails a bit of a climb (there are 68 steps). So please be aware of this if mobility could be an issue. I am mostly on hand to welcome guests personally and so will help with any luggage.
A complimentary continental breakfast is provided. At other times there is tea, coffee, biscuits, bread etc in the kitchen.
Guests are very welcome to use the kitchen if they wish to make food for themselves. However there are times the kitchen will be unavailable for cooking a meal (if I have a meeting scheduled in it for example).
In the lounge is a large DVD player with a wide selection of DVDs, but please note there is no TV.
Please note check-in window: 12pm to 7pm. Usually guests are able to arrive earlier to leave bags. Please contact me first if you are hoping to come outside this check-in window.
No guests other than through the AirBnB booking.
After 11pm quiet in the flat so as not to disturb others

A Scottish / Canadian, I was living for 10 years in Toronto. I have been back in Scotland living in Edinburgh for 15 years now. My main area of work has been International Development, and I have spent much of my time focused on a charity working with Burmese refugees in Delhi. However my involvement in this focus is winding down this year, with a new focus of moving into inter-personal focused work.
I enjoy the adventure of travelling, seeing different cultures, especially from a fairly simple local perspective. In the last 10 years I have been in Thailand, many times India, once Burma, Belgium and most recently Brazil.
I have not put French in the language section, as I am very far from fluent, but I can get by and certainly communicate, albeit with probably rather sketchy use of French grammar!
Above all I enjoy meeting people and creating a hospitable and friendly space. As a host, I will be around to make sure you have everything you need and are comfortable, and to have a mug of tea with or a beer or glass of wine, to say 'hi'. But the booking is essentially yours to be able to do your own thing with, and to have your own space with the flat as a super base for you while you are in Edinburgh.
