Madeline's place is a hotel located in a great location. We received a complimentary ride to the hotel from the airport, however the ride back is $10. It was an okay place, sufficient for what we needed, and the bed is comfortable. It was overall a little dusty and spider webby and did not look like the picture, though. No rugs, no flowers, no decor, just the same bed and dresser. Not terrible, though there was a cockroach on the wall. Overall I think a 3/5 is a fair rating. Decent for the price.

For what we paid, this was overall pretty good value. Our contact person was excellent with communication - she always responded very quickly and with the necessary information. The downside was that many people were smoking outside the room in the lobby and this could be smelled in our room. The room was also extremely hot at night, which I recognize is a norm for the area. It was a convenient location to visit some spots such as the Egyptian museum, and cab rides to other sites were not too far. It can be difficult to find dining spots in the area; we could not easily find food when wanting just something quick. The area was safe, and it was also lively, which meant it was also often loud at night.

It was a private room in downtown Cairo hotel with all the basic essentials needed to enjoy a stay in the city. All of the services provided were good and great care was shown towards me through my stay. Thanks!

I arrived very early, 4:30am, where the hotel set up an airport pick up which went smoothly. Since check in was not until 12pm, I was left waiting for my room to be ready for several hours; however, they were very accommodating and provided a place to rest until our room was ready. Wifi is somewhat spotty, but they have about 4 different wifi connection that you can try if one isn't working for you. The staff was informational, but definitely pushed their tours. Maybe it was because I am a young woman who was traveling with my mother. Anyway, I ended up doing the pyramid tour, the Cairo day tour, and the nile river cruise. The pyramid tour included a driver and a tour guide which was informational; however, if you want time to explore the pyramids and do your own thing I would suggest going to the pyramids without a tour guide. We were rushed and unable to spend as much time there as we would have liked (but this is a personal preference). There was some confusion with the fact that lunch was supposed to be included in the day, but luckily the hotel was very apologetic about it and ended up providing us with lunch the following day. The nile cruise was not worth the money in my opinion. It was shorter than I anticipated and not a tourist attraction at all. My mother and I were the only tourists while everyone else was local. If you want to experience the local culture, go for it! I just felt a little out of place. The Cairo city tour was great thanks to our incredible driver who was very informational. This also seemed a bit highly priced considering it only included transportation; however, I honestly don't know what to compare that number to. Overall, the experience was great. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly. They were available 24/7, and welcomed you when you arrived after your daily activities. They also were willing to sit down and discuss your plans and help you coordinate your trip. The location is also great considering you can walk to the river and the Egyptian museum. It is very centrally located. It is nothing super fancy by any means, but GREAT considering the cost!
