Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Marshall, Texas this charming studio apartment is one block off of the historic courthouse square in the old Woolworth Building. In later years it was the law office of World Champion Duck Caller Vernard Solomon. Designer Diane Solomon reinvented this space with her expert eye and love for all things country French. With touches of luxury she delivers a cozy experience where you may hide away or emerge to immerse yourself in the local experience.
Your studio apartment has one bedroom with a queen size bed, a living room with sofa, efficiency kitchen, and bathroom with a deep clawfoot tub utilizing a handheld shower attachment. Parking is directly in front unless events draw more people. Fortunately, there are ample places surrounding the area for you to park.
Within two blocks of the apartment there are nearly a dozen locally owned restaurants, live music, and antique/gift stores. Twenty steps from your front door is Telegraph Park, a stage that hosts concerts and a grassy area with park benches. Feel free to bring your well-behaved pet on a leash for a place to play. Interestingly, the apartment is solidly built and buffers the sound so you never need worry about noise. Marshall is a participant in the Main Street program so every Second Saturday there will be street vendors, a classic car show, an evening concert (free) and other attractions from March through November. Don’t forget about the Fireant Festival the Second Saturday in October. Marshall has developed a quirky, fun event that includes a lot of nonsense around one of Texas’ most prolific pests….the fire ant…with ant calling contests, parade, and bike race called the Tour de Ant. During Thanksgiving Marshall lights up the town with the opening of Wonderland of Lights, an annual Christmas event that has all the downtown sparkling with lights and the joy of the season. Nightly music, hot cocoa, late night shopping and more, you’ll never have this level of up close and personal experience of Wonderland more than here. Marshall is only 15 miles from historic Jefferson where train rides, more antiques, and eateries abound. Nearby Caddo Lake will take your breath with it’s mysterious waterways laced with hanging Spanish moss only 20 miles from town. Shreveport/Bossier City is 35 miles away with more entertainment as well as world-class casinos. Staying in the heart of this area will provide you with abundant choices.
