We love hosting friends and family in our cottage and are looking forward to hosting you and yours! Whether you'd like a romantic weekend getaway, or tour the NEK during the peak foliage weeks, a place to crash after a days bike ride, a week of skiing at Jay Peak, Jay Brook Cottage is the perfect place to stay. We own 30 acres of land and have a well maintained logging trail that leads down to Jay Brook. Our family likes to cross country ski on the property, we also like to snowshoe down to the brook. In the summer we often pack picnics and walk down to the swim hole and enjoy an afternoon by the babbling water.
We are located just 7.2 miles down the road from Jay Peak Resort, a 10 minute drive. The Belfry (a favorite local bar and restaurant) is .5 miles up the road, a 1 minute drive. The town center with the local family owned grocery store is 1.8 miles down the road, a 3 minute drive! The town center has three bars and
restaurants and plenty to check out. Do not miss Bernie's Mexican not to be missed!
A little about us! We moved from Brooklyn, New York to change the pace of our lives and to become part of a small community. When we first moved to Vermont, we rented the cottage as our home, we were tenants for two years. We loved the cottage, the property and community so much, that we decided to buy this property. The cottage holds a very special place in our hearts and holds very dear memories for us as a family. It is well crafted, very homey and a fabulous place to come home to after a day out in the country. Watch out though, everyone tells us that it's so comfy that it can be hard to leave, you want to stay warm and cozy in front of the fireplace, or in your warm toasty bed!
We own four friendly dogs, two Great Pyrenees/Poodle mix, one Shepherd/Beagle mix and a Beagle/Jack Russell mix, all shelter rescues!
