It's really sad to hear in this manner that Christophe was unhappy, particularly as we could have easily resolved some of his issues. He could have mentioned in his review that he did not contact us at any time during his stay.
If he looks on home away at the 5 star reviews for this property number 89135 unit 75201 he will see that the family leaving 2 days before him ( Iris A) gave us a 5 star review and said they would return tomorrow.
Life in Greek villages is lived openly and on arrival I specifically mentioned that there would be extra church services for the victims of the 24-28 July Mati fire, an unprecedented national tragedy.
Our guests love the sounds of the village. They come to us for the opportunity to share Greek village life. It is probably the main feature of the property. Christophe may not have realised this when he booked.
The listing clearly states that our 3G WiFi data is not enough for streaming video. But holidays are important so I offered two solutions. The first was to buy Christophe a Greek SIM, very easy ,10 euro for 15GB, sufficient data for video workouts. Also to provide a DVD player and great selection of kids dvds. He said he would be fine without either. He seemed happy with the toys, games and books we provided for his children.
I also said if he changed his mind to just text us.
Aleiki is a 150 year old villa with a walled garden of trees, Bougainvillia, shady seating and sunbathing areas. All the terraces, tables and chairs were cleaned , hosed and the rugs were washed and dried before Christophe's arrival. We use specific floor cleaners for parquet and tiled areas. They do not have a sticky finish.
As with all our guests I said that if he needed anything- absolutely anything at all, I would be more than happy to help. I apologise because one toilet brush was stained but it was NOT dirty. We chlorinate the brushes when cleaning the toilets.
I feel sincerely sorry that Christophe did not adapt well to Greek village life as the rewards are rich. I wish he had allowed me to help him overcome his anxieties at the time.
