H2O house is a very old ancestral property which is being maintained for over a hundred years now. It's situated in a valley, just between beautiful mountains and with a pleasantly big water stream running down.
Ages back this place used to be prime hub of villagers, who used to come here to get wheat. We call them ‘Gharat’ (grinding mill), as the process of naturally making wheat by use of running water; which makes this place special in time forever

The place is a bit secluded and is located in a very quiet and extremely scenic location away from the noise of any crowded towns nearby. The setting is natural, handmade yet beautiful and tranquil; maintained neat and clean with a view of the high jungle. Listen to sound of natural water & chirping birds 24x7, ‘Live the LIFE’ of a local community. Ideal place to write a book or transform your imagination into painting.

Otros aspectos destacables

We at Not On Map believe in preserving culture and in putting our best effort to save nature. Aligning with this thought, we have used all natural available raw materials to make this place from grounds up. From furniture to wall colours everything is natural. For example, the chairs, tables, crockery are wooden; we tried to use local discarded woods from the jungle to make them. We haven’t used any plastic toxic paint or used cement; only pure mud filling has been used to make H20.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hidden gem. We booked the entire house which has three rooms. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Following the hosts directions the place was relatively easily to find. The onsite hosts Ramesh and his brother were always around to help us, and they made us excellent dinners on both nights. The setting is idyllic and we enjoyed exploring this lovely mountain village. Be sure to take a walk around the village and up the road a little to truly get an appreciation for this gem.

About the house and surroundings: Manuj's H2O House is located in a very quiet village of Chaminu about 5 km from Chamba and almost 50 km from Dalhousie. The place is a bit secluded and is located in a very quiet and extremely scenic location away from the noise of any crowded towns nearby. Manuj had given us some detailed directions of how to reach the place. However, we had a little bit of trouble finding the place esp. since we went there in the night and the area was new to our driver. But Manuj had given us the contact info of the caretaker (Vicky) who was extremely helpful to us, constantly calling us and making sure we were on the right track and even came to lead us on his bike when we were lost at one point and made sure we reached the house safely. This place is located besides a Sri Sri Ravishankar ashram. The house is located right above a stream of water coming down from the mountains which was great. The sound of water usually mild felt great but because it had rained a lot our first day, the sound became a little bit loud so if anything can be done to regulate the flow and keep it a mild sound that will be awesome. The place itself has an antique vibe to it but was kept very clean. It exactly gives you the feel of going and staying at somebody's place in a quiet village (if that's the experience you are looking for). They also have a small garden surrounding the house where they grow grapes and have planted walnut trees. They have a meditation room too. The house also has 2 house dogs who are extremely cute. One of them called Brutal (but had nothing "brutal" about him if you know what i mean :) ) followed us everywhere we went whether for walks or chat sessions in the night / breakfast. Hospitality: We received the best hospitality at H2O house. Sunny who served us our breakfast, lunch and dinner was the most humble person i have ever met. He was extremely pleasant and was ready to cook us any food as per our requests whenever we wanted. We even requested them to make maggi once since it was raining but they readily made that for us. The food cooked by Ramesh ji was very homely and they served us fresh rotis made out of the flour made in their own water-powered flour mill. This mill is run on the same water that runs below the house. We got a chance to look at the top portion of the mill too. You get amazing home-cooked food as much as you want at a very very reasonable rate too. All in all, a great place to stay with an equally amazing hospitality. Very much recommended for a peaceful scenic stay in a small village. So if you are looking to stay in a...

The place it says is literally not on map. But the place is calm, quite and peaceful. The beautiful of sound of stream adds to the calma. The Chaps working there are always ready to help with a smile. Served us some delicious meals. Organic, prepared with a lot of love. No hotel in would serve you Hot rotis like they did. The place doesn't have much to move around, but one can chill around and spend some time on their own.
