Walking distance from campus, this circa 1927 loft is an eclectic mix of modern amenities and decor with cozy cabin charm.

El alojamiento
Only six blocks from campus, the Artist Loft is in residential South Eugene. Walking or biking to events on campus takes only a few minutes.

The total square footage for the main house and the Blue Room mini house is about 1100sf. The interior cedar paneling is complimented by modern cable railing and lighting. There are two audiophile stereos and an extensive collection of CDs with most music genres represented. For added entertainment, there is a vintage 1960s era Japanese Pachinko machine and 1976 electromechanical pinball machine. Two memory foam mattresses and hypoallergenic bedding will give you a peaceful night's rest. There is original artwork throughout the house and an antique Anatolian tapestry cascades down the 20 foot interior wall. In the winter, put a log on the fire and relax as the large three bladed ceiling fan twirls overhead. The reclaimed gym floor adds a touch of history and whimsy to the decor.

The Blue Room mini house on the deck is a separate structure offering privacy to other guests in your party and features an antique high bed and tiger stripe bamboo floor. It's actually closer to the kitchen and bathroom than the upstairs loft area, but does require about six steps across the deck to the back door.

In the summer, hang out on the enormous deck and fire up the grill. Bicycles are available to use and there are several excellent markets and restaurants within walking distance.

If you're looking to stay in a generic apartment or something that approximates a hotel room, this probably isn't the place for you. The Artist Loft is quirky, unusual and unique, and we have no doubt that you will appreciate its charms and love staying here.

Dónde vas a estar

Eugene, Oregón, Estados Unidos

The street is a single block long and somewhat anachronistic for the neighborhood, with this house predating most other structures in the area. It is hemmed in by University Park to the North with a nice playground, basketball court and petanque field (and very active petanque players who are happy to let you play) and the Masonic Cemetery to the South. The cemetery is a fascinating bit of Eugene history and is on the site of the first school in the area as well as being the final resting place for the founders of the city. There is interpretive signage throughout the winding paths and definitely worth checking out. A few blocks to the West is a small retail area with Sundance organic market, Sundance Wine Cellars, coffee shop, Mexican food, Thai restaurant, breakfast/brunch café, flower shop, bookstore and convenience store.

Hi, I'm Chris! I've lived in Eugene for over 20 years and have explored the Pacific Northwest extensively. I originally moved here for graduate school and loved it so much, I never left. My family and I like to go on adventures whenever possible and enjoy trail running, hiking, climbing, mountain and road biking and basically anything outdoors. I also love gardening, painting and woodworking. I bought this house in 2001 and have done all of the renovations myself. It has been a labor of love and I've learned a lot about home improvement in the process. I adore this house and still have a long list of projects which I hope will come to fruition one day. I'm also a part owner in a small boutique winery, Camp Creek Cellars. You can find our wines around town in some of the markets, or if you are an oenophile, I'd love to share a glass with you. I hope that you enjoy our home and have a great time while you're in Eugene!
