This two bed Victorian apartment is located 30 minutes tube ride from central London and 30 minutes from Wimbledon and the Royal Park at Richmond. Light and beautifully refurbished throughout with state-of-the-art fixtures and fittings, our home leads out onto a sundeck and private garden.

El lugar

Our flat is a light filled, bright, airy and modern space. I love that you can be comfortable relaxing in our home, watching TV or eating but always feel like you are outside due to the large bifold doors which give access onto our private, south facing deck and garden. Our flat is comfortably large enough for 2 couples to stay a long weekend. We have two double bedrooms, one with bifold doors opening onto the deck and garden and one at the front of the house but with large sash window facing south onto the garden. We have integrated LCD tv's and audio in every room (with surround sound in our tv/living room) meaning there is no shortage of space to be together sociably or for everyone to relax and watch their program or film of choice separately. Plantation shutters or full blinds in the bedrooms ensure a good night sleep.

Guests will have access to the bright eat-in kitchen with bifold doors, the sleek bathroom and the pleasant completely enclosed garden equipped with large gas bbq. Our kitchen is fully equipped and has a dishwasher and combi washer-dryer.

Unfortunately there is no side access to the garden and the corridor through the house is rather narrow so we aren't really equipped for families with bikes, but a pushchair can be collapsed on coming into the property and left in the living room.

Over long weekends our cat Malika will be chilling out at home and will welcome you on arrival. She's a noisy little thing, please love her as if she were your own, cat lovers only need apply! She is always looking for her next meal and somewhere new and cosy to sleep. Please respect our home as hers too. She has a cat flap so is completely independent and all we ask is that you look out for her and give her a few portions of cat food during your stay.

Our cat, Malika, will be present during your stay but Matt and I won't be. We will however leave a full pack in the property for you to find on your arrival which will include :
- our contact numbers in case of any queries or problems
- useful contacts including doctors and takeaway recommendations
- details and maps of local transport options
- full explanation of key appliances and Wi-Fi code
- map and recommendations of our favourite things in the area
- information on how to care for Malika

Tooting Bec is an up and coming, bright and vibrant part of London, home to a great mix of young professionals and families. Central London is 25 minutes by tube but days out exploring wide open spaces of Richmond Park or Wimbledon Common, watching tennis or shopping at the boutiques at Wimbledon are easy to enjoy too.

Must dos in our local Tooting area:
- visit the incredible selection of Pakistani, south Indian and Sri Lankan restaurants. One of the only places left in London where you can eat like a King or Queen for £10 per head. Bring your own beer and wine.
- go for a swim at one of Europe's largest open air lidos, 15 minutes walk away at Tooting Bec common.
- go for great cocktails at the intimate 'little bar' at the end of our road.
-Steak and shake. Halal beefburgers never tasted so good.

Our flat is a 10 minute walk from Tooting Bec tube station which is on the Northern Line. From here you can get to central London in 20 minutes. Bus routes to most major attractions also go from the end of our road. We are also a short bus ride from Wimbledon.

Transfer time from Gatwick or Heathrow airport is 45 minutes to one hour, either by taxi or by train then taxi.

There is parking on the road outside our flat, although restrictions apply between 10am and 11am on weekdays so you would have to make a journey with the car at this time.

Our property is immaculately clean and ultra-modern. It is an ideal place to stay for a long weekend to see the sights of London, or to experience a slice of south London living.

Ruth was very accommodating as we arrived late into London, Ruth helped organise a key drop off with our friend who lived close by. We really appreciated that and it made our arrival so easy. The apartment was spotlessly clean, perfect large bedrooms, all the mod cons and even speakers built in throughout the apartment which was a cool touch. I can't say a bad thing about the apartment or in my correspondence with Ruth. When we are back in London we will definitely stay here again!

It was really easy to arrange things with Ruth. We really enjoyed our stay. The flat is indeed incredibly modern and we came away with a few ideas for our own house! The flat is in a nice location with ample parking outside at the weekend. The cat was lovely and mainly stayed out of our way. We would definitely stay again if it were available.

Matt and I are young professional thirty somethings with day jobs that keep us too long in the office. On the weekends Matt loves to play football and sample the local variety of curries and I love being in the great outdoors, walking in Richmond Park or along the river in West L…
