Due to the state of the road after Narok to Maasai Mara it is advisable to make sure you have a suitable 4x4 to travel here with if you intend to self drive within the reserve for your gamedrives. If you do not have your own transport we can arrange taxi transfers to camp, from Nairobi the cost is KES 15,000 each way and the journey time approximately 5-6 hours. We are also accessible via public transport, for full details please contact us.

Laura, originally from England and Moses from Nairobi met in 2010 whilst both working as overland tour leaders on campings safaris between Nairobi and Cape Town in South Africa.
In 2011 we decided to put the best of our Kenyan and British cultures together and moved to Maasai Mara to set up Mara Explorers Camp from scratch. Our concept was to create a fun and friendly environment for adventure travellers to be able to come and relax and enjoy the Maasai Mara and all the activities it has to offer without breaking the bank. Our camp land is leased from the local Maasai who benefit greatly from the income of the camp along with the community work and student sponsorship which everyone within the camp is committed to.
Despite also running our safari company we still love to travel and explore new places when we get the time and our long term aim is to expand our concept of Mara Explorers Camp into other areas of Kenya!
