Tawny Barn, sleeps 3, tucked into the rolling hills of the Welsh Borders.
Tranquil, relaxing, extreme, thrilling, and lots in between.
Soak up peace and tranquility in the purest air that lakes, countryside and mountains offer, just an hour from the sea.
Lots to do, whatever the weather, for all ages.
A modern interior, finished to the highest standard is the perfect setting for a great stay with all home comforts.
Clean air and quiet calm means relaxation and good sleep are mandatory.

El alojamiento
The barn is self contained with its own front door, a modern kitchen, a big picture window dining with incredible views, a secluded patio area and a portable bbq.

We've taken every care to retain the barn's character during the conversion, whilst putting your comfort first and trying to be a ecologically friendly as possible, with high insulation levels, LED lighting, and a Biomass heating system powered by wood from our own land.

Having been disappointed ourselves when staying on holiday at places with weedy showers and lumpy beds, we've made sure that our showers are the real deal, and the beds are comfortable.

There is comfy leather seating, and a TV with FreeSat.

There is a double bed on the ground floor and a single bed on the mezzanine level.

There is free WiFi. We use Vodafone 3G/4G broadband, which is quicker than the typical rural service.

All bed linen and towels are provided for your stay, but please bring your own towels for activities outside the property.

We provide a starter pack of essentials like tea, coffee and loo rolls, but we don't replenish these during your stay, so please make sure that you include them in your shopping list.

We're proud of our ecological efforts. The barn is underfloor heated throughout and thermostatically controlled by you. All the the lighting is LED. We're conscious of our environmental impact so we're big on re-cycling and we'll ask you to help by using recycling bins we provide.

Dedicated parking is for one car, designed not to block your views.

A laundry room with a quality washer/dryer is yours to use.

We have 42 acres of land that you are free to wander over although grazing animals will restrict access at some times of the year. You must obey Countryside Code, so children must be supervised at all times. There are small areas of deep water and the ground is can be uneven but there's a hill to climb, 4 acres of Ancient Woodland, and a stream by which to play or picnic.

We live in the house in the same complex, but you are not overlooked. You have your own completely separate building, with its own front door and grounds.

Dónde vas a estar

Powys, Wales, Reino Unido

Set on a green and sheltered valley hillside in the Montgomeryshire countryside, Tawny Barn overlooks the Black Rock stream (Nant y Graig Ddu).
We are just 3 miles from the small Georgian market town of Llanfyllin with shops, pubs and eating places.
We're 6 miles from Lake Vyrnwy with its Victorian dam and fairytale water tower. Picnic by the lake, hire bicycles, walk the many trails, and visit the RSPB centre. Beyond Lake Vyrnwy take the Bwlch y Groes mountain pass, into Snowdonia National Park over to Bala.
Explore the house and grounds of Powys Castle (NT) near Welshpool and Chirk Castle (NT) near Oswestry. The Welshpool and Llanfair Steam Railway runs along the Banwy valley at a leisurely pace. Llanrhaedr Waterfall is well worth a visit.

For the more adventurous there is off-road motorcycling and downhill mountain biking locally, with white water rafting, karting, canoeing and pony trekking within an hour. Further afield are Zip World, Bounce Below, Tree Top Adventure and Surf Snowdonia.

Blue Flag beaches at Barmouth, Aberdovey, Fairbourne and Borth are a little over an hour away.

Jonathan and I moved to Tanyfoel from West Sussex to enjoy the best that Wales has to offer, fabulously clean air and stunning views.
Jonathan mostly works from home, not many people have such a view from the office window. I gave up her building company to concentrate on working to develop the barn into a holiday home. With my knowledge and experience this has been achieved in as ecologically friendly a way as possible to reach green energy targets.
Jonathan is originally from south Wales, and I am from rural Leicestershire. Moving to just outside of Llanfyllin gives us easy access to both of our families.
This very beautiful part of the country; it has to be Wales' hidden secret.
We just need some goats to reach our 'smallholding' self-efficiency dream.
Hobbies; ducks, bikes, cats, cars, dogs, wine, gin, chocolate, gym, swimming, reading, gardening and cake - you can guess which belong to whom when you meet us!!
Dislikes; caterpillars, bad beer, whisky, plumbers.

Jonathan mostly works from home, not man…

Durante tu estancia
