Casa Granadita is an official Santa Barbara Historic House (townhouse actually), secluded yet near all the downtown enticements. Due to City law, I can only book for stays of 30 days or more. For these longer term stays, I no longer offer the continental breakfast. Kitchen privileges can be arranged.
Charming private room with 2 extra-long twin beds, good mattresses, 300-count luxurious linens and thick 100% cotton towels. Share 2 bathrooms: the smaller one with the shower has been completely refreshed, the larger one with the tub is functional and clean but needs work.
Price is discounted to reward your patience while I'm in the process of reclaiming the house and garden from the years of tenants. (No noisy or odoriferous projects will be undertaken during your visit.)

Stairs in the entry hall allow you privacy in your comings and goings if you prefer. Let's talk about what kind of kitchen access you might need. Kick back in the living room. Hang out at the dining room table. Sit and contemplate the green exuberance of the garden from the large patio. Use Wi-Fi throughout the common rooms and in your bedroom.(See note under Basics.) Access the office printer (by request). You are most welcome to share my little bit of paradise.
Atención a los huéspedes
You are guests in my home, welcomed to the house of my heart. You'll be given a key, and may come and go as you please. If you prefer privacy, you'll have it. I've traveled some and enjoy meeting people and getting to know them, but you set the tone.
I only rent the one room through Airbnb. When I do have a permanent housemate in the other bedroom, each of us has our own bedroom and schedule. I have a busy, varied life and may not always be at home. I frequently usher at local performances in the evening. You'll always be able to call me on my mobile phone if I'm out and you need or want something. I'll do everything I can to make your visit a comfortable and happy one.

The prices for the room vary and may be displayed without the cleaning fee. AirBnB will present you with the appropriate average-per-night and the total for your request before you decide.
If you book for 31 or more consecutive nights, you agree to stipulate that the AirBnB transaction is a pre-registration written contract between us, so no City TOT or TBID tax will be required. A discount for these longer-term bookings is included and shown in the final price quoted to you.
The kind of guests I'd like in my house won't mind these small formalities:
- Security Deposit: I expect you'll be the kind of people who get it all back.
- Picture ID as a part of the Registration process.
- Only registered guests or their registered invitees may be on premises.
The linens will be changed and your room cleaned at the beginning of each 7-day period. The longer-stay cleaning fee(s) is/are included in the AirBnB calculated price. Incoming guests will find fresh linen and towels, and a clean room, of course.
Kitchen privileges (and rules) can be arranged. Please send your requirements before you book and we'll discuss whether I can accommodate you or not.
Please read the House Rules.

(Why you're getting a discount)
The Small Bathroom, the one with the shower that has been completely refreshed, is very small. You may prefer to use the Large Bathroom.
Casa Granadita is an old house and she dances. That causes cracks in the plaster. The cracks take painstaking repair, much more than the usual paint job. So, since the Large Bathroom hasn't been addressed yet, you'll see the cracks there. It will, however, be squeaky clean and quite functional.
The halls and stairwell haven't been addressed, either. The “Garden Room" is being used for storage right now.
The “garden exuberance" mentioned elsewhere is mostly wild overgrowth. It's a disaster. I'll get to it someday. The patio is large, but the built-in benches are showing their age.
$4.00 per load in the washer/dryer (includes soap). Unfortunately, you'll have to traverse unrehabilitated parts of the house to get to the washer/dryer. Please turn a blind eye if you want to use these facilities.
All of Santa Barbara is in the midst of a severe drought. Please conserve water.
