I think my cabin is heaven on earth and much love goes into offering comfortable bedding, furniture and supplies. It is off-grid, using 100% solar energy and rainwater, and you can stay connected via phone and internet ... perfect! The property adjoins Beech Creek, which feeds into the upper portion of the Buffalo River one mile away.

El lugar

My secluded 2-story cabin is built on a bluffline on 46 pristine acres. I added everything you need -- and lots of special touches. The views are breathtaking and you'll be super close to amazing climbing, floating, hiking and sightseeing. I created both indoor and outdoor seating spaces; the kitchen is well-equipped -- and for sleeping there is one queen bed upstairs and one double bed downstairs (and outside, an eno hammock and loungers!)

This might be the right place if you want to be immersed in nature and privacy, you have a sense of adventure and love bird watching, pristine scenery, rivers, wildlife, quiet. If one of your top amenities is television and you don't like the idea of an outdoor shower, this might not be for you!

As much or as little as desired. An initial welcome and house orientation will be necessary to explain solar and water usage and after that, it's yours to enjoy. We have suggestions for adventures!

Otros aspectos destacables

Children (of all ages) are considered guests and are cared and planned for just as thoughtfully as adults; please include them in your tally. Technically the house sleeps four, although a queen inflatable and a twin trundle are available. Having more than four guests is possible under certain conditions.

This home has been considered safe and free from allergens and mold by persons affected by mold sensitivity and CFS. Green construction with low volatile organic compounds. The wood, including flooring, is all locally-sourced; much of it was harvested from the property. Paints are clay and chalk-based, latex-free, zero VOC. Please let me know in advance if you have particular allergies or sensitivities.

We have chosen not to have a microwave because of its demand on the solar power.

I have a rooster! He will crow to announce the morning! I provide a white noise machine to avoid the sound if you prefer to sleep in. He is the protector of our flock of 11 hens, and they will happily provide you fresh eggs.

This was our family's second trip to this dreamy Boxley cabin. It's difficult to find the right words for the magic and wonder of the cabin, the land and all the love that has been poured into both. It is such a special place. We spent most of our time relaxing, reading, playing games and exploring the land. My children were delighted by the chickens and loved searching the land for treasures: twigs, rocks, leaves and other natural wonders. We saw elk on several occasions and found some wonderful nearby hikes (Lost Valley Trail). Robin was there to greet us warmly upon arrival and checked in several times throughout our stay. The cabin is stocked with so much love! Books, games, art supplies, bath goodies, hiking gear, snuggly blankets & pillows and plenty of food/tea/coffee. This cabin and the surrounding land are truly majestic. Our family feels truly grateful for both of our visits - and I hope we can return again soon!

This place is great. It is well stocked with everything you need to cook and to enjoy the deck. If you like the outdoors and to be away from it all, this is the place.

Robin's cozy cabin is a little slice of heaven tucked away in the mountains. It is a perfect refuge from the hustle and bustle of daily life, and I was grateful to have experienced it. I will definitely be back. :)

Robin's cabin is absolutely incredible. Words cannot describe the tranquility of it all. My wife and I loved every second of our stay here. If you're on the fence regarding this wonderful retreat away from the normal worries and cares of life, definitely pull the trigger on this one. It's a gem.

We had such a great time here! So many little details- Fresh brownies, gourmet coffee beans and plenty of other pantry items for all your cooking needs. The decor made it feel like we were coming home to a long lost place we used to live in. The view is better than any pic and describe. The location was great and made it easy to get to great hikes and the best parts of the Buffalo. The bar has been set high with this stay. Not sure I will ever experience a better vacation rental than this one. Highly recommend an all/4 wheel drive car for getting around the area.

Robin's space is wonderfully filled with inspired treasures, beautiful plantings and eclectic tchotchkes that surround you and make you want to slow down and enjoy the fleeting moments of what will be an all to short visit to her gorgeous eco home. Boxley Valley, Arkansas is a beautiful place to partake and awe in the majesty of nature. Even if you're not a hiker or big on outdoors there is a trail that is less than a 50 steps so that you may stand on a bluff overlooking the valley. There is poison ivy so if you bring children be especially aware of and/or review what it looks like so that it may be avoided. It rained a lot one evening while we were there and it officially closed the Buffalo River. The gravel road up to the house stayed intact and was fine. You do not need 4WD, although I would recommend AWD or front wheel drive. We had AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon services in our party. AT&T along with Sprint were worthless at the house, in Boxley Valley and local Jasper/Newton County area. Verizon seemed to have pockets or several areas in Newton County that worked. You have good WiFi at the house so if you have iPhones you can FaceTime. There is also a land line. The house has surround sound and has a plug in for your device to access your music. There is a fire ring and place to do a campfire, but because it was to wet and we had to skip it. There is a heater on the deck. I forgot to mention to Robin it had an empty propane bottle. Check your temps and weather and if you think you might want to use the heater mention it to Robin and/or just bring your own bottle. Prior to this trip I can't remember the last time I slowed down to take a bath and that ended with the claw foot tub. The instant water heater worked like a charm. Outdoor shower for those that prefer it. Fresh eggs each day. 11 chickens and one lucky rooster that protects his girls. On the couple evenings in Newton County that we did not cook we found ourselves at LowGap Cafe in LowGap, Arkansas. Nick Bottini is the chef and co-owner with his wife. Their restaurant was the only one in the area to stay open till 8pm. But I would suggest you get there by at least 7:30 and not later than 7:45pm. I witnessed a couple kindly turned away and welcomed to come back the next day at 7:57pm. The Bottini's and their staff work hard all day making great food and they are simply just ready to call it quits near closing time. Most all eating establishments are BYOB. Newton County is dry. Pictures absolutely do not do this unique Airbnb justice. Much brighter and more energy than any pic can convey. We shared 2 of our 3 nights with my son...

Respuesta de Robin:
Jacquie, I loved having your family visit! If you, or any guest, ever runs out of something at the cabin, please know I almost certainly have a replacement -- in this case there was a full extra propane bottle next to the grill that also fits the heater on the deck. Sorry that happened! A quick note or call to me and I can advise. Thank you so much for the lovely thoughts and the tips offered for other visitors. I hope to see you again.

This is absolutely a piece of heaven on earth! If you are looking for a stay in nature, then look no further! You are surrounded by the most beautiful scenery in the Ozarks. The view from every angle is nothing short of amazing. Robin is a wonderful host, she was on her own vacation and still dropped emails to check in and see how things were going periodically. She has created an oasis in the Ozarks that you certainly don't want to miss out on! The bed is VERY comfortable and she keeps the place well stocked with all the necessities and then some. Hawksbill crag is only 7 miles away, which is a great hike! And you're very close to the Buffalo River as well. She has several books with trails and waterfalls for you to check out if you wish to do so. My husband and I are ready to plan another trip to Robin's enchanting little cabin hidden in the woods! We give it a 10 star rating!!
