Indigo Batik House is a part of Joy House, located in the same land with very typical for the traditional architecture of Tay people, next to Cau May waterfall in Giang Ta Chai village, 10km away from Sapa town, where is surrounded only by nature with mountain, waterfall, river, bamboo forest, rice terraces and locals.

Experiencing the daily local life, learning indigo batik beeswax drawing technique of H'Mong people and dining with our fresh homegrown vegetables is the main idea of our house.

El alojamiento
Give yourself an opportunity to listen the beautiful stories of the people around here, experience the local culture, play with the children, give a rest among the nature and feel that you have come back.

The waterfall, river and bamboo forest just 5 minutes walking where you can swim, meditate, yoga, read or relax among nature. We have a big garden with tea trees which are 80 years old and a lot of vegetables and herbs. Let's harvest the vegetables for dinners and make fresh green tea together.

You can do trekking from our place with a local tour guide, who speaks perfect English. The trekking will go through different beautiful places (villages, bamboo forest, waterfall, rice terraces,...) which only known by locals.

You also can join an indigo batik workshop with H'Mong teacher, all products will be made by your hands with indigo process. After the workshop, you can keep your products as a memory from Sapa. Indigo batik fabric is the most unique fabric of H’Mong people. Batik is a resist dye technique created by wax drawn motifs. Traditionally, H’Mong people use hemp as a base fabric. The batik design is used for clothing and household items.

Acceso para huéspedes
The kitchen is always ready 24/7, whenever you need to cook something, just simply tell us, we will cook together. You can lie down on hammock, do yoga in bamboo forest / garden, swim in the river. It's all about nature.

Otros aspectos destacables
At our house, plastic bottles are not used and we purify water from the mountains for use. When you stay with us, please bring and reuse your bottles of water. This small act could save nearly 1,000 plastic bottles monthly at our place. And we're also committed to plant 1,000 trees a year through Journey Of Youth's project (a Vietnamese voluntary organization) to contribute to the healing of nature.

Ubicación

Sapa, Sa Pa, Vietnam

Our house is a part of the village and the H'mong community, our neighbors are very friendly and love to talk with tourists.

Most of the ethnic people in our village and Sapa area are living in poverty, which means that they do not have jobs for earning good money. The only thing they can do, is trying to sell handicrafts for making small money to feed their families.

Staying in Sapa, you may be surrounded by local ethnic people sometimes for selling handicrafts, if you do not want to buy, just kindly say No and they will never bother you again.

And the children, they love to play around the village and our house. And they also really love playing with the tourists. We hope the children can bring you a joy smile during your staying.

We would like to give our guests an opportunity to experience the real local culture, not like a hotel / resort.

I've worked as Corporate Social Responsibilities specialist over 10 years. Since I've travelled a lot for my work and experience local culture, I recognize that I'm so much in love with the life and people in countryside. I have a desire that travelers stay in our house can truly feel the human love from the local ethnic people. Moreover, I truly hope this homestay business can make more income for local ethnic people on mountainous area, that's why all the hosts, guides and indigo batik specialists in my homestays are H'Mong and Dao people, who have spent their entire life in the village.
