Ramy and Leo were wonderful hosts! They made the entire trip super easy and stress free. The house has fantastic views, lots of amenities and easy access to many of the islands activities.

Our stay on Decatur island was truly magical - the place is secluded and really makes you feel miles away from civilization. We kayaked every day, walked on deserted beach, tried our hand at crabbing (with great success!), enjoyed the campfires and the starry nights. Our family of 9 (6 adults and 3 children) was comfortable in the house and Ramy and Leo were great hosts, responding to all our needs. Kids loved the sheep and the goats, as well as beach combing and visiting the pirate ship. It is a great place to get away and forget about the outside world. Thank you to our hosts Ramy and Leo for a memorable trip!

Decatur Island is a fabulous, slow paced, peaceful island. Land Phobia's place has one of the most epic views of Mount Baker. It's an extremely family friend place with a room full of kids toys, bikes of all sizes, croquet, swings, etc. You have access to an incredible private beach with all the beach toys and amenities you'd need for a family (chairs, life jackets, kayaks, fishing poles, sand toys, and even kids water shoes). The caretakers truly care about your experience and are willing to help you with any of your needs during your time on the island.

It is true that the golf cart was an added bonus last year with no extra charge to the guests. We thought it would be fun for them and kept expecting it to be repaired any day. But since it seems broken more than it is not.....I feel that we will have to remove that option altogether. I hoped that the use of a large vehicle was more advantageous for most large families as the golf cart is extremely limited. (That is how it broke in the first place....people overloading it etc) But more than that, we are trying to attract families that are hoping to get some exercise on this tiny island. Perhaps riding the bikes and hiking is a better option for those who really enjoy the Pacific NorthWest! Sorry again for the misunderstanding and I hope that you and your family enjoy all of your future Airbnb travels! Thank you for your service to our nation with your careers! It was wonderful having you stay! ;) Ramy

This is a real cleansing experience from urban living. An island in the remote NW Pacific coast inhabited by 27 permanent residents, no cars or shops (well not quite right, see later). There is a TV and videos, excellent wifi, netflix etc etc. But daytime entertainment is walking, cycling, beach-combing, kyaking, swimming (sea), bird and whale watching and "rough" golf. There is a wonderful large kitchen and a dining area (both inside and outside) with probably the best view on AirBNB. The bedrooms were great - one was a huge master bedroom with a huge four-poster canopy bed and an en suite bathroom. One was a smaller bedroom - with a large bed. The third room is strictly for children - right-angled bunks designed for small people with no doors separating it from the lounge room. It should be a stated that this room is not for adults and certainly not for a couple. Ramy is a wonderful hostess. She and her husband Leo are incredibly hard-working and among other things also bought and run the island coffee shop / gift shop. They are very generous hosts. I can absolutely recommend this place. They are really super-hosts in the true sense of the word.

So close to Seattle and yet a world away. We loved everything about Land Phobia - the house is comfortable with all amenities for somewhere so relatively remote. The hobby farm, beach, kayaking, and other things to do on the island are just great too. We were there with our 3 & 6 yr olds and grandparents. It was the perfect place for family time and a feeling of being right in nature, but with comfort.

We had a fantastic time staying at Land Phobia. It was everything we hoped for, and more. Hosts Ramy and Leo are amazing hosts. Communication was perfect, they were responsive, and very helpful. I'm in their debt! Location It would be hard to beat such a beautiful spot. The views of the sea, Mt. Baker, the full moon, etc., are all gorgeous. It is definitely secluded and remote. As long as you are prepared for that, and desire it, you will be incredibly happy. Ramy and Leo picked us up and dropped us off at the dock, which was very nice. It was also fun! Amenities The house is fantastic. Cooking was a breeze. Sleeping spots were plentiful. As great as the house is, the outdoors is probably what you are here for. The yard, firepit, beach, lawn/beach chairs, deck, etc., are all great. We also arranged to use the tree tent, and the kids fought over who got to use it each night. Misc We had kids ranging in age from 1 to 21. They all had a great time. The goats and sheep were great to hang around, and were very friendly. The Store was open for the weekend, and had a fun farmers market. Leo was serving turkish coffee, milkshakes, and lattes. The whole family enjoyed them. We definitely hope to come back in the future!

I love to travel. I also love animals which makes it hard to travel. Music, food and family are my life! I am very independent and love nature, which is why I chose Decatur Island as a residence. I am a clean freak and I like being active.
