Yasmine's apartment is in the perfect location and was reasonably priced but unfortunately her building management was not ok with her continuing to rent out her apartment. This is a shame because her apartment is beautiful, clean and has all the amenities. I was put in an awkward position of arriving shortly after her building management had informed her she could no longer rent out her place and they did not want me there. To Yasmine's credit, she convinced them to allow me to stay, which was a huge relief because I had no other arrangements to fall back on! The apartment had not been cleaned since the building management would not let the cleaning personnel in so Yasmine agreed to refund me the cleaning fee I paid. I am still waiting on Air BnB to process this refund, as both Yasmine and I agreed upon it several days ago. The first night was rough - the concierge let me in to the apartment and told me that I would have to meet with the building management the next day so I could not leave the apartment again until then or I would be locked out. This meant I could not do the laundry or go and get food (despite having travelled all day and not had a chance to eat before arriving), leaving me with dirty linens from the last guests that were there. However, after meeting with the management the next day and getting the apartment keys, I went and bought laundry soap and did the laundry myself and it all worked out in the end. I feel bad for Yasmine because I know this was all out of her control and she was several time zones away so communicating was a little difficult, but she did the best she could under the circumstances. It appears from the other reviews that the building management had no problem with her renting out the apartment at first so I am puzzled as to why they suddenly said no and seemed surprised about the arrangement! It's a shame because this apartment was walking distance from everywhere I needed to be while in Montreal, it was usually very quiet, and was a very nice place to stay. If circumstances were to change and Yasmine were able to continue renting her apartment, I would recommend it.
