Travel back in time and enjoy our slow-living lifestyle set in a secluded nature paradise tucked away in a private, sprawling mountain lair and wildlife sanctuary. Endless hikes in protected rainforest, waterfall showers and a chorus of endless bird song spanning 200 acres through a defunct 1960s commune.

El alojamiento
The Falls Forest Retreat comprises of 6 townhouse cabins and a separate common house building. It was purpose built as a commune in the 1960s for families yearning to live in harmony with nature and each other. While no longer operating as a commune, you will enjoy the architectural nod to the past, with old character buildings and an abundance of prehistoric fairy-tail rainforest at your doorstep and the occasional friendly smiles of kindred friends and family.

Our backyard extends into National Park. Explore our private winding coastal rainforest trails, swim in the waterfalls, or crawl along the riverbed on a fairy hunt.

Forage for mushrooms, look for koalas or go fruit picking in the orchard. Can you find our elusive platypus? Go for long walks (or short ones!) on our endless forest trails into the woodlands of our home. Bathe under the majesty of our 40ft waterfall and come back to your cabin a new, refreshed and invigorated person!

Curl up in a blanket in the forest and gaze peacefully at the stars or go on a nighttime mission through the valley to spot glowworms and fireflies. In the morning, climb our 200 year old fig tree and swing from her arms, or stop and admire the delicate collection of orchids that hang from her limbs. Spend the afternoon at a farmer's market and bring home some artisan snacks and local wines for a cuddly night by the outdoor fire. We have plenty of rainy day activities as well, like games, DVDs, books, nature journals and crafts.

Acceso para huéspedes
Your private Lyrebird Cabin is all yours, while the property is sometimes shared by other like-minded visitors. At times the area is completely still, other times it twinkles with the joy of others meandering the trails or lounging in the pools.

A relaxing retreat, your cabin is a 2-story, 2 bedroom, self-contained townhouse. On the main floor, your cozy bed for two overlooks the old orchard (where you can spend an afternoon with a basket, picking fresh fruit)

Upstairs there is room for 2 more in a second private queen bedroom. Up to 2 additional guests are welcome on a pull-out, in their own semi-private nook.

The guesthouse is equipped with everything you need. A double stovetop and all the tools necessary for simple cook-ups, a fridge, small oven, microwave, jug and coffee maker with freshly roasted beans and grinder, spices and oil.

Down the stone walkway find the common house - a shared area affectionately known as "The Roundhouse", which is an architectural delight- a vintage, octagonal building with sunken conversation lounge, open fire place, pool table and a games, book & DVD library.

Otros aspectos destacables
The AC unit is in the downstairs living area.

Our remote location means we have minimal TV and cell reception. WiFi is satellite and government restricted. Please avoid downloading/streaming. WiFi is subject to weather conditions and should not be relied on.

Our Yoorigan Waterfall is a natural wonder - her ponds are always full and she is always flowing, but her force is determined by rainfall.

We pride ourselves on having the cleanest spaces possible, but please note, our buildings are old, we are deep in nature and the common areas are used by all therefore may not be in tip top shape at all times. If you have any issues, please communicate with us first. We work very hard to maintain a 5 star rating and want you to have the best experience here possible.

Welcome to our profile! Please scroll down to see our available accommodation cabins at The Falls Forest Retreat. We are a spritely couple living in the enchanted Falls Forest. Together we are doers of stuff and makers of things; artists, and collectors of oddities, hula hoopers extraordinaire. We like putting into the world what lives in our imagination through woodworking, costume making, prop making, interior styling, wearable art, large scale art installations, circus performance, fairy house building, wand making and everything in between. We look forward to meeting you! Warmly, Alex & Hugh
