Cheerful native accommodation, nice sea view! Great value for the price. Hosts were super helpful and friendly. Felt like being home!

Thank you for our stay! This place is super cute and there is a kitchen right next door so you can cook your own food. The beach is literally a 2 minute walk and the restaurants near by are great! We recommend Patrick's! It is a secluded home behind some palm trees and tucked away a bit so that you are not on the main street. We loved it!

The best place and the cheapest in the island, in main road close to market, shops, restaurants & bars, and with oceanview. We had been here 20 days and we felt like home in Miramar residence. Bebet and Grace had been kind with us. And the island is beautiful like a dream.

Respuesta de Mirasol & Martin:
Thanks for staying with us Charmaine & for your feedback. It is now the wet season and mosquitoes are more prevalent at this time of year. We spray the cabin between guests and provide brand new mosquito nets. Guests themselves can buy mosquito repellent and coils locally. There is little more we can do with our inexpensive, rustic, native, non air-con accommodation, but more expensive options (with air-con, concrete) might have less mosquitoes if you decide you want to return to the island. Hope you enjoyed your stay & thanks again for staying with us.

Listing accurate, thank you so much, home care was well done by the caretakers. If only we could clean up the pathway to the bungalow, do some beach clean-up which we tried to do ourselves daily, as the kids are playing in this area a lot and dumping their trash.

Respuesta de Mirasol & Martin:
Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately we cannot control the area outside our property, it is periodically cleaned by the caretakers of the land behind us. Our land/property is clean and always swept/cleaned daily.

I had probably the best 2 weeks in my life staying at the Pacific Cabin, waking up every morning and chilling in the hammock on the balcony overlooking the ocean…can't think of anything better! Grace and Bebet (who is also a great surf teacher) were very helpful and were always there in case i needed anything. I've also had a pleasure to meet their wonderful kids and play with their daughter Abby who taught me a few games. The cabin was very clean and had everything you may need. I'd definitely stay at the Residencia Miramar again! Thank you so much for the amazing 2 weeks!

This was the perfect place to stay! The location was perfect- the beach is basically your backyard, your a short walk away from many great local restaurants, and close to popular surf spots. It is along the road where many of the popular resorts are, but you get to live among and with the simplicity of the locals. It feels very safe and gives a very authentic experience on the island. Dont expect anything too fancy- there is no air con or running water, but Grace and Babette make sure you have everything you need, like a mosquito net over the bed, a fan to keep you cool at night, and buckets of water replenished daily for the washroom. Grace and Babette were great hosts- they were super friendly, they answered many questions for us, and are available to take you out to see many attractions if you like. They were also very accommodating as we had to change our schedule a few times. Stay here!

Perfil de usuario de Mirasol & Martin

About Us : Mirasol was born & raised on Siargao Island. She worked as a nanny in Manila for several years, then married Martin in 2003 & moved to England in 2004. She worked there for five years and travelled across the world to obscure countries like Liberia, Saudi Arabia, Israel, UAE, Portugal, Spain, Indonesia & East Timor. The highlight of her life so far is the birth of her son Rafael in 2010.
Martin was born and raised in England. He discovered the joys of surfing during a study year abroad at UC San Diego. He arrived on Siargao Island for the first time in 1997, and although he has found many other places in the world better to surf, it was the vibe (and Mirasol) that inspired him to return to the island time and time again.

About Residencia Miramar: We've hosted over 25 nationalities in the past three years. We get great reviews by treating our visitors like family. We are no frills, but offer unique, native accommodation for a good price. In October 2016 we renovated our "Pacific Views" listing into an open plan apartment with a western specification bathroom; turning it into an even better space at a very competitive price for increasingly expensive Siargao.

Currently we (Martin & Mirasol) are not living on Siargao Island. Martin is teaching English in a small town on the NE coast of Saudi Arabia. Mirasol is keeping him sane during this extended three year break from tropical island life. Mirasol's brother Bebet and his wife Grace will takeover as hosts once you get to Siargao. We'll communicate with you before you get to the island and help you with anything you need to know.
