Large bedroom for two in Newark's trendy, historic Ironbound District, a short train ride from the World Trade Center and Midtown Manhattan. Walking distance to the Prudential Centre and downtown Newark. Minutes from all major NYC tourist attractions. Enjoy a quiet evening, local partying, or all New York City has to offer! I have two equally sized, similarly appointed rooms available. If you need an additional room, the other room is listed on AirB&B.
I am a Manhattan lawyer living solo in a large three-bedroom apartment in the historic Ironbound District of Newark, New Jersey. The train to Manhattan is a ten to twelve minute walk from the house, and arrives at the World Trade Center of Midtown in about 20 minutes. And it costs as little as $2.10, less than the New York City subway!
I offer two spacious bedrooms each with a full size bed for two persons, with full use of the kitchen, dining area, living room, and balcony overlooking the Newark Downtown. The apartment is very large and comfortable, with free WiFi and a bathroom exclusively for guests. (There is one bathroom for two guest rooms. Typically, only one room is occupied at a time. If you want exclusive use of the guest bathroom, we can probably arrange something.)
You can prepare meals at home (I provide dishes, pots and pans, and some food items -- please ask before buying spices, etc.; I might already have it), or enjoy one of the many excellent local eateries, such as Delicias de Minas at the corner. There are two grocery stores very close to the house, both with a variety of ethnic offerings.
Disponible para huéspedes
TV with an endless supply of programming from all over the world in every language; kitchen with dishes, pots, and pans available for use; some basic food items (milk, coffee, tea, eggs, sugar, spices, etc. -- ask if you need something and I'll do my best to accommodate you); dining area and living room; workout area (please restrict weight workouts to workout area); large bathroom (two guest rooms, one bathroom); closet; night stand and lamp; central air; ceiling fan; balcony; free washer and dryer and laundry supplies. (If you need your clothes washed, please let me know. Access to the wash area is restricted.)
Atención a los huéspedes
If I'm free I'll be glad to offer a free curbside pickup/dropoff from or to Newark International Airport.
It would be a pleasure to show you around the Ironbound District or Lower Manhattan if time permits. On weekends, I MAY be able to show you other parts of New York City, such as Brooklyn and parts of the Bronx. I really enjoy showing the best of undiscovered New York (no tourist traps!), so please ask! I do volunteer work most weekends, so ask in advance so I can adjust my schedule.
I'm glad to offer advice on interesting things to do in and around the Newark/New York City area and point out some of my favorite places to kill time.
I speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian, and can struggle through some really bad French :-).
Otros aspectos destacables
My place is located in the historic, culturally vibrant, and very safe Ironbound District, within walking distance to the Prudential Center and the Newark Downtown area.
My place is closer to most of New York City's major tourist attractions than are most parts of Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island.
PLEASE NOTE: While we are flexible about check-in and check-out, I work in Manhattan during weekdays, so it is preferable if guests can arrive in the evening, after 6:00 PM. I will do my best to accommodate an earlier check-in time, but cannot guarantee it.
PLEASE DO NOT EAT IN THE ROOM! I do not enter the rooms when occupied, and will not be able to clean spills, etc. Please remember to clean up after yourself.
The downstairs entrance must be kept double-locked at all times. This is my landlord's policy.
I don't require it, but prefer shoes be left at the door. I have flip-flops for guest use if you want a pair for indoor use.
The apartment has central air. If you want the temperature adjusted, please ask. I will be glad to accommodate you.
I will show you what you can use. If you need anything else, please ask!

I'm a New York attorney of Caribbean origin (living in the US since age 11). I LOVE New York City, especially the place I grew up and have lived most of my life, Brooklyn. I'm a recent New Jersey transplant, living in the Ironbound section of Newark, the heart of Newark's Portuguese and Brazilian communities.
I have friends all over the world and love meeting people. I speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian. My roommate and business partner speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French.
