The Library is exclusively for guests unable to take the stairs. For occasional use only. Ground floor wing off the living room, private bathroom, sunrise porch view of Chesapeake Bay and sunset window view overlooking the driveway and barnyard.

El alojamiento
During holiday weekends(Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, etc.) there will be a THREE night minimum.

Ordinarily, the library is just a library. It's not rented out regularly. This room is exclusively available to guests unable to take the stairs. The ground floor is all hardwood, so fairly easy to make it around in a wheelchair or walker. The bathroom has a step in shower with bench seats, tile floor, open floor plan with pedestal sink, making it easier to roll up to the bathroom sink. Note: there is just one grab bar outside the shower door. The bathroom doorway is wide enough for a standard wheelchair but the opening is only 28" wide. However, we can remove the door off it’s hinges to make it wider.

With Advance Notice:
-A wheelchair ramp and wedge can be set up for the front entrance.
-The room can be set up for two so that families can stay together.

Enjoy early morning sunrises from your room, have breakfast in the formal dining room or screened porch.

In winter, warm yourself by the living room or dining room wood stove, or sit by one of our toasty radiators.

Acceso para huéspedes
Anything on the ground floor. The living room, kitchen, library, and dining room are all on the same level without any thresholds to maneuver. Note: There is a small marble threshold at the bathroom doorway(28" opening). To access the porch, you'll need to go down a 4" step but we can move the wedge to get you onto the porch.
Bayfields is now serving breakfasts again!
We have all our permits, the hens are happily laying their eggs, the kitchen is open!
Our overnight guests have 2 options:

Option #1 Self Serve
Act like you live here! Get out of bed whenever you want, fix your own breakfast however you want, bring whatever food you want, or use our fresh eggs, toast, fruit, cereal, coffee or tea. Clean up when you’re done.

Option #2 We Serve You
(8am to 9am)
Be our guest and be waited on! Choose your view. In colder months we’ll serve your breakfast in the dining room at the formal table or at the bay window. During the warmer months, dine at a table on the screened in porch. Coffee or tea is available all day long - self serve - using our coffee maker, tea kettle, or k-cups. As you sip your morning beverage, I’ll bring you a bowl of fresh fruit and take your order for breakfast. I then cook to order farm fresh eggs (your choice of blue, brown, or duck eggs, if you dare) breakfast sides (meat or vegan), and toast or muffins (regular or gluten free), serving one plate at a time.
Check in is at 2pm. Check out is 12pm the following day. During major holiday weekends (New Years, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, or Christmas) we won’t charge higher holiday prices, but there will be a THREE night minimum on those weekends.
Pool:
The pool has hand rails but no lift. Sauna, Hot Tub:
Bring your swimsuits, the hot tub has no grab bars. The infrared sauna heats up in 20 minutes. Both are open year round.
In summer, take a kayak out for an adventure on the West River. Wade at our little beach or swim in our shared pool (open from mid-May to late-September).
Whole house WIFI.

Otros aspectos destacables
Bed and Barn?
Our horse is not for rent, but we have a space for you to bring your own horses(limit 2).

This place has a medium dog, a hungry horse, a wayward goat, 3 shy sheep, a handful of chickens, ducks, geese, and one elusive cat. Owner lives on site.

Security Camera Disclosure: There is a front door camera and a back door camera as well as a camera positioned on the farm animals.

Miles of country roads to explore. Expect to see deer crossings. Very little traffic and quiet neighbors are seldom seen. 30 miles from Washington D.C. and 15 miles from Annapolis Naval Academy. Quality local seafood restaurant within biking or kayaking distance(or 2.5 miles by car)

While I do best on raw fruits, and veggies, Kurt is more of an omnivore. We both thrive on fresh air and outdoor activities. We love sailing, skiing, horses, bike rides, and romping with the dog. We love book collections, old cars, and antique furniture. We drive the coastline of the Chesapeake Bay in a convertible selling Maryland and Virginia Cruising Guides. I enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories. Kurt enjoys fixing things and keeping our lawn looking at its best.

Durante tu estancia
This is my full time home and I live on site, but you won't see me too much as I often have a busy schedule. I'll usually give a house tour, show you around a bit, tell you a little family history about the place, and then you're on your own unless you call on me with questions or requests. I'm always up for a green smoothie. We have guests who will join us in a card game or share a glass of wine in the evening. Any time of year, with pre-planning, you may request an excursion around the quiet secluded neighborhood by horse and cart.
