The Big Lost Ranch is located on the North Fork of the Big Lost River surrounded by National Forest. We have 3 rustic, unique cabins right on the river, plus another cabin (The Bar) this is your inside cooking area. These cabins are 18 miles from Sun Valley, and 35 miles from Mackay. The ranch offers hiking, biking, fly- fishing and a peaceful healing environment. I just book one party at the time, so you get to relax in privacy in your cozy romantic cabin. Glamp-ing in style! Enjoy the peace, tranquility, the beautiful mountain setting, and privacy. I prefer to communicate with everybody before booking, because I want to make sure that we are the right place for you. I just like happy campers at the Big Lost Ranch. The cabins have no WiFi or TV, we have limited satellite WiFi at the ranch house, but if you really need to be on your phone constantly, we are not the right place for you!
Think of us as camping in style "Glam-ping"! You have your cozy feather beds, full bathroom, and your own authentic western bar. We are not located in Sun Valley, although we are just 18 miles (about 30 min) away for your convenience. Bring your own food and don't forget wine and beer because you are a drive from a store.

We are located 18 miles from Sun Valley, going east over Trail Creek Summit. It is a beautiful scenic mountain drive over a mostly dirt road. It takes about roughly 30 minutes from Sun Valley and having good tires is helpful to avoid a dreaded flat tire.

My husband Steve and I live in the main ranch house 250 yards away from the guest cabins right on the river. We have a satellite Internet connection in the main house , not in the cabins. We like to fly fish, hike, bike, kayak, and live an outdoor lifestyle. We are happy to help you pick the perfect hike, bike, or fishing spot. I have all the local maps, extra bikes and other things to make your stay fun. We are avid fly fishermen and we are willing to help you out (if we have the time). There is excellent fly fishing in the numerous rivers surrounding the ranch and we can help you with all your outdoors adventures.

My husband, son, and I have lived at the Big Lost Ranch since 1992, although we move down to Sun Valley every winter to ski. When our son Jake went to college we started sharing our ranch and cabins with the public and it has been a very positive experience. My husband and I are outdoors people, we fly- fish, kayak, hike, bike, and explore the surrounding mountain lakes every chance we get. We love our peaceful private Idaho, and love sharing this beautiful and tranquil place and lifestyle with others. We have no internet at the cabins , no TV, this is not a 5 star hotel, we seek outdoor enthusiast, that like to camp in style.
