Our home-from-home is an 18th Century former tavern which faces the sea. It's a 5 minute walk from Deal's 'High Street of the Year' (The Telegraph) and a short drive from Sandwich, with it's renowned golf course.

El lugar

We want you to feel relaxed and happy whether you are a couple on a romantic retreat, a group of pals, golf buddies, or a young family. Everything is on the ground floor, with no steps, so if you have movement difficulties, get in touch in case we can help. We're at the end of the phone should you need us and will do our best to help you if you have a query.

For those prone to allergies we provide non-allergy Microfibre duvets, as well as down and down/feather duvets. The ground floor apartment is spacious and uncluttered.

The fireplaces in the living room and bedrooms are NOT working - we wish they did but the central heating is toasty.

Deal's light is breathtaking and refreshing with pinky hues, whatever the season. We love it.

Disponible para huéspedes

Guests have access to the whole of the ground floor living area and the outside space in the back. The yard is shared, and is a sun trap in the summer, where you relax on our bench, take meals, or use it for access to bring bikes in and out. I provide two fold-up bikes (don't expect Bromptons!) and a couple of children's bikes for you to use (age 7-9, 9-12).

Our cellar is Private, so please don't go down there as we do not feel it is safe for guests. We cannot accept liability for anyone who ventures down there.

Atención a los huéspedes

We renovated the flat between April-November 2013 with new appliances, heating etc. Please call at any time if you need help with anything to do with the flat and the location.

Sarah was a great host! Easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Her place is in a great location across from the beach with easy access to everything. The flat was just as described and shown. Perfect for a family of four. The only caution I would offer is that this is an old building with little insulation from the sounds of the upstairs flat. Otherwise a super place to stay.

Thanks Elliot - that is a lovely review. One plan we would like in the future is to install is some sort of sound proofing on the ceilings - at least in the bedrooms - we wish we had done this initially but hindsight... Have a great Summer, Sarah.

We had a very nice time in Sarah's wonderful apartment. It's got a lot of character. It basically looks like you imagine that a beach house would. It's also convenient to Dover.

Thank You Sarah!! Sarah was very accommodating and helpful. The flat is a charming 17th century, ocean front location. The agate beach is right across the street. The town is unique with plenty of activities. Sarah let us use the heritage card, which gets you into some of the castles for free! Yeah! All in all, we loved the accommodations and Sarah was an awesome host! Definitely coming back when possible! Cheers, Mike & Crystal Weston

This place is magical!!! You are literally across the street from the rolling waves of the English Channel. It was amazing to fall asleep to the sound of the wind and the waves and wake to the seagulls. (Can I go back already?) The beds were super comfortable (and we can be picky about beds) - there is a king sized bed in one bedroom with two cots folded up underneath for extra guests, and two twins in the other room each with a twin trundle underneath. The shower was great! It never ran out of hot water and had great pressure. The kitchen was well stocked for anything you might have needed to prepare a full sized meal or just sit down for a cup of tea. Sarah was even nice enough to make sure we had bread, butter and milk. There were toys and games for younger children to keep entertained, bikes if you wanted to take a ride, plenty of space for our group to spread out. There is paid parking right across the street, but the neighbor was kind enough to let us park behind the apartment.

That is a lovely review - thank you! I am also taking on board what you said about the bathroom lock - an excellent point. I am rubbish at DIY and had tried to put on a hook which fell out! I've put a pebble there to keep the door shut but what I think I will invest in, if not a proper lock, a sign for the outside of the door which reads 'OCCUPIED' when in use! Thank you so much again and I am really glad you had a lovely stay. Do come back! Sarah x

This was my first every stay with Airbnb and WOW - what a host to try it out with first! Sarah is so good at communicating with you and provided a wealth of information, not just about her wonderful home but the local area too. The photos do not do the property justice - its huge and was so lovely to be opposite the sea with easy walking (3-5 minutes at the most!) to the high street. Everything has been thought of and it really is a true home from home. Thank you!

This place is beautiful and right on the seafront. The shops are close by and the locals are very friendly. Our puppy hurt her leg the minute we arrived and a local lady gave us some advice on the local vets. Early morning beach walks was perfect. Sarah has provided such a lovely home to stay in and we are already planning a second visit.

I am a freelance copywriter with theatrical leanings. I am sociable and enjoy home comforts and learning to relax! Deal has given me the opportunity to do both; it is my hope that my guests feel the same. This is a new experience for me and one I am relishing...
