Shanti's Redwood Cottage is a property filled with peace, quiet and calm nestled in the redwoods of Occidental. Dog and pet friendly with a large private back yard. Soak away your aches and pains in the hot tub. Take a left out of our driveway and you'll be at the stunning Pacific Coastline in only eight miles. Help us feed Cosmo the llama, our Blackbelly sheep, chickens and ducks. Very soon we will have fiber optic internet! Lots of peace, quiet, sun & stars here!
Guests are asked to be mindful of Shanti's land, its unique ecosystem and its gentle ways. Libby and Lucy (Elizabeth's Field Spaniels) love to have visitors of the canine or feline persuasion. Pets are very welcome here and welcome indoors as well. There is a sweet little backyard behind your vacation rental that is completely fenced for your dog. Elizabeth's hot button is littering. Please no littering whatsoever on the land (even cigarette butts are litter to us!). It is good karma to conserve spring water by not running the tap while washing dishes or tooth brushing, and also not taking long showers. Smoking cigarettes outside is OK. We are medical 420 friendly indoors or out. We thank you for being respectful of Shanti!

Elizabeth is a world traveler extraordinaire, having been to 45 countries around the globe. For 13 years she owned and operated an international tour company called "Spirit Travel" in which she organized and led spiritual pilgrimage tours to India, Nepal Tibet and Bhutan. She was featured in Yoga Journal and other publications for her pioneering work in this field. Previously, Elizabeth owned and operated a domestic ecotourism company called "EcoTours of Oregon" in Portland, Oregon for eight years as well. She loves to garden, road bike and mountain bike, practice yoga, read good books, walk barefoot on the beach with her dogs Libby and Lucy, swim, hike, cook and travel. Her most recent passion is permaculture and sustainable farming on her 6.5 acres. She ends most days by simply watching her sheep and Cosma the llama grazing on her hillside -- a wonderful meditation. Elizabeth loves to be a hostess and looks forward to meeting new people through AirBNB. She has bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Nursing and is also a Certified Massage Therapist. As an AirBNB host, Elizabeth is respectful of your privacy, very fair, a good listener and very helpful. She really wants you to have a good time! Her own style of traveling is to undiscovered places that have no postcards. Her last trip was to Cambodia and Laos for two months in 2013 by herself. She has trekked with a single sherpa to the Mount Everest Base Camp. Her life epitaph is "She lived life to its fullest."
