A brief history on the building: The Paris Hotel was constructed in 1891 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was originally named for its builder, George Hamburger, a German saddler and harness maker. Its two upper floors were used as a residence hotel. The main floor contained three commercial storefronts and had apartments in the rear. In the early years, the stores consisted of a tailor, a cigar manufacturer and a brewery-supply business.

The Paris Hotel was renovated in the 1980’s and the old hotel was turned into apartments. The community philanthropist and restaurateur, “Daddy” Bruce Randolph once lived here.

A fun aside: Are you a history buff? Jack Kerouac was reported to hang out in this very building. Walk to El Chapultepec (1962 Market) and enjoy some live Jazz and know that you are also hanging out where Kerouac did in “On The Road”. (He took the first booth to the right when you walk in.) In the 1940’s and 50’s, Jazz was the musical fuel of the Beat Generation. Some of the greatest Jazz Musicians played off of Welton Street (Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Nat King Cole, Dizzie Gillespie, Count Basie) and you can still walk to Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom (2637 Welton) to check out some great live music gigs. You can bet that both Kerouac and Cassady bopped the night away here.

***This loft is located in an urban environment. Please expect all the benefits and drawbacks of an inner city.***

Hey There! I am a fun-loving gal that loves adventure and exploration. In my more adventurous days, I loved exploring various countries and cities by having experiences, like paragliding (tandem) in Hawaii and bungy jumping in Queenstown. Lately, I like to travel by immersing myself in the local culture as much as possible. I'm a lover of good, fresh food too. You can have the best recipe, but if the ingredients aren't fresh, you're wasting your time. I've been in the healthcare industry for over 10 years and have been working with young children and their families for about that length of time too. Helping little ones grow and coaching parents and caregivers on ways to improve their experiences in life is a fulfilling career. I'm so fortunate I get to help people everyday! My style of traveling is to stay in one place for at least 3 days, preferably longer. In my experience, when you're moving too fast, everything blurs and you'll take incredible pictures but won't remember where you were! As an Airbnb host, my goal is to make you feel comfortable and happy. You'll find your accommodations clean and comfortable and everything you may need will likely be available.
