Matt was the perfect host. He was reliable and easy going. His boat is a gem. Having met Matt now, I would not hesitate to recommend him very highly. The boat is in a great location for exploring the cape. It is idea for families and for couples looking for a place to relax. It is very very special.

This is a stunning 70-year-old schooner, which has been lovingly restored by Matt and was a pleasure to stay aboard. It is moored in a quiet harbour, a short row from the dock, which is only a five-minute drive from downtown Chatham. It is a highly unusual experience and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Be prepared for fairly basic amenities (no shower or wi fi, for example), as you would expect of a vessel of this vintage. But this is more than compensated for by the peaceful nights aboard this beautiful boat. Matt was a gracious and attentive host and we're only sorry we didn't have time for him to take us out on a charter in Tyrone. That would have been a unique thrill. Thank you for a lovely few days, Matt.

Matt was a great Host, since the dinghy had a issue he personally ferried us back and forth regardless of the time and paid for use of the harbor launch. The Tyrone is a beautiful boat and a great location. Highly recommend staying aboard, and sleeping on deck if the weather is good.

A great experience. Tyrone is a wonderful boat, and it is fantastic to relax in the tranquility of Stage harbor, especially when the town and beaches are bustling in the summer. We arrived on a very windy day and the first ride out to her was a bit rough, but Tyrone was rock solid with nary a shake during the windstorm. After this, things cleared up and it was lovely to row back and forth out to her. The boat has a huge deck and cockpit to relax in, and reading a book in the son boats putter past is tough to beat. Also Matt was a great host - very responsive to messages and welcoming and flexible at the boat. It should be said this listing does require a small a sense of adventure, and the galley is really only suitable for simple meals, but the boat is quite livable. Toilet was fine and there was electricity for lights, charging phones etc. It also wasn't the cheapest option, but considering how expensive it is to stay on the cape in the summer, and considering how unique and fun it is to stay on this gorgeous boat, I would do it again in a second. Go for it!

Staying on the Tyrone was a magical experience. She is a special boat, sure to please anyone who loves boats. There is ample single-level deck space for enjoying the gorgeous views or just relaxing in the sun. We loved watching the schools of baitfish trying to evade the marauding striped bass and seals--right next to the boat!! Amazing. The boat is a very short row from the dock and the parking, literally a stone's throw. We were able to row the four of us (one adult & three kids) to the beach and back, which was an adventure that made the long row worth the effort. The Tyrone is sure to intrigue anyone who loves history or antiques. She is literally a floating antique with original cleats, portholes, hardware, etc. The interior woodwork gleams from the floor to the trim on the ceiling. The gas stove and old-school icebox both work well. The boat is beyond spacious and could probably sleep a dozen if the spare sails and lines were not stored in the forward berths. The softgoods are obviously not original (the boat having been built in 1939) but they are older. Bring sheets or fleece sleeping bags. The bunks are relatively spacious and the cushions are high quality (thick and not covered in vinyl). We slept better than we ever have. Our host was gracious and the icebox was stocked with ice, water, milk, beer, eggs and bacon upon arrival. Anyone seeking an adventurous and unique way to enjoy Chatham or the Cape should consider the Tyrone!

Tyrone was a unique experience: a lovely vintage schooner in great condition, she's loaded with charm. The setting is perfect: peaceful but just a short distance from town. Great sunsets and sunrises. Sleeping aboard is as restful as it gets. Matt keeps the boat up well; he welcomed us and gave us a quick orientation, then left us to ourselves -- but was only a quick call away if needed. Wonderful all around.
